I would not advise anyone to book this hotel as they have no integrity. Despite offering to leave us a key for a late arrival ( in fact were did arrive before the deadline ). I asked for further information as to exact location but none was forthcoming so I assumed it would be at the address for which we...

I have been guest here for many years. An authentic Venetian building, comfortable, very clean and quiet with really helpful staff available nearby. Minutes from Ferrovia and Piazzale Roma , yet beside a tranquil canal, a perfect starting point for exploring Venice. .With an excellent night's sleep behind you and your own set of keys, you are ready to tackle the...

Me and my partner stayed at Ca' Dario in October 2012. We chose this place due to the location and the reasonable pricing, it was our first visit to Venice. When we arrived and finally found the place (make sure you take a map with you, Venice is like a labyrinth at times) we were shown our room and at...

We reserved one night at the cadario residence and unfortunately we came late by train and we couldn't make check in because hotel was closed . I sent an email before we arrive and I was promised that the hotel will be waiting for us until 2400 p.m. But the reception didn't even answer to our phone calls to explain...

We stayed for around five nights and enjoyed our stay immediately. The location was a god send as was very close to both the bus stops from the airport and the train station. We saved money as we did not have to trail around venice but took us around ten minutes to find.It is also a short walk away to...

Directions: from the train station, cross the bridge to your left. Go right immediately after the bridge and then left at the big white building with columns (you can't miss it). Follow this road down and make a right, then a left at the laundry mat and another left before the small bridge. Reception will be on your right. The...

This place was way better than I expected. The room was adorable and our room had a view out into a little courtyard. The bed was comfortable and there was a sink in the room which is great when there is a shared bathroom situation. The towels that came in the room were more like table clothes, they were interesting....

Location is quite near from the station. We booked quadruple room with good price, has private bathroom inside, located on 1st floor. The three bed was ok, but one bed bit smaller (on picture) and put in different room, with dining table and chair-near bathroom. So we have to move in joined with the other three bed. The breakfast was...

Great location from the station, which is a huge plus. The rooms are quite good sized and clean. A downside is that you have to share the bathroom with the other rooms. The breakfast consists of some croissants and access to a coffee machine. Overall an affordable place with great location.

The place is a gem for us because of its location to the train station. I guess we were lucky to share bathroom with a family of 3 kids whom are very clean & considerate. Our room was facing the cafe but the noise is bearable & had to issue with lack of quality sleep because we were too tired...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
