This was a nice place. There are rooms at the main office building some apartments very close-by. We stayed in one of the apartments. The location is quiet, even being next to the casino. We enjoyed the garden area. The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful. The San Marcoula vaporetto stop is an easy walk.

Hotel is a good 20 minutes walk with roller luggage from the Train Station. There is no other way to get there other than a water taxi. While there is free breakfast, it consists of bread and coffee. Our room was spacious with 2 bedrooms for a family of 4. We are told that this is a standard hotel in...

We spent few days in February 2017 in Casa del Melograno. Our room was pretty small but clean. We had a view on garden and it was very calm all the time. In our room we had one "french-size" bed, small flat TV, big wardrobe and fridge. Bathroom was also very small. Our room was very clean. Breakfasts were tasty....

We booked this hotel just for one reason: they advertised that they offered a childcare. BUT THERE WAS NO CHILDCARE, NO BABYSITTING SERVICES AVAILABLE. When we asked at a front desk who was going to take care of our children, they had no idea what we were talking about. Consierge stared at us as if we were asking for miracles....

Great place to stay. Very helpful and friendly staff. The family room we had on annex building was very specious and comfortable. Better than expected. About 10 minutes walk to main station and transportation. 5 minute to water boat stop. Will stay again for sure.

Enjoyed a short stay in the heart of Venice at this lovely little place. As people have said, it is a bit hard to find but just look for the casino, take a right before entering the courtyard and take a left at the canal and it is on your left. Alternatively, catch the ferry to S. Marcuola, exit towards...

Not sure what the relationship is for the annex with the main hotel but got the impression they acted only as agents. Positives - large bed, decent bathroom with a normal size shower with the bonus of seat. Good wifi though after about 10pm at night did not work. Spacious rooms and slept 2 couples. Also overlooked a canal. Had...

Loved this hotel regal setting everything we needed, in the old town of Venice, looked out our window to the water below. Handy to anything we needed loved it . Had a fridge in our room which was really good. Breakfast supplied was all we needed, the gentleman running the hotel at the desk is very nice and helpful

Venice last destination on cruise. Booked hotel in advance based on friends location Its near the casino on two vaporetto stops near enough to the railway station and St Nova the Main Street. Had a good sized room with bath shower AC and a window terrace opening on to the canal. Great little bridge so you could go either way....

the room was ok... Cleaned room every second day... which means beds undone and garbage left in room. I wasn't impressed. Don't expect much from breakfast: 1 mini croissant, 1 bun, 1 yogurt (that I had to ask), 1 box of Corn Flakes, tea/coffee THAT's it... quite the joke! Service was slow despite that there were hardly anyone in the...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
