We stayed here from 9 - 12 April for a short break in Venice. We arrived late but check in was very simple, Marco had emailed us a week earlier with details of how to get in to the property, which was really useful. The B & B is in a great location just 10 mins walk from Piazzale Roma...

The host was very welcoming and kind and personally served us breakfast (bread, coffee, granola) in the morning - there was also a water boiler and coffee in our room which was nice for the evenings. Check-in was easy once we found the place (Venice's fault, not the hotel's). The room was warm and comfortable (in very chilly January) and...

We arrived on a chilly January evening to a neat and warm room. Since we had planned to reach Al Campaniel around 8:30pm, we were contacted by e-mail in advance with instructions for accessing the building and collecting our room key, which was convenient. The room was standardly set and the private bathroom was located across the hall. Be sure...

The hotel is literally on few steps from the san Marco water bus station. I loved the central location as it seemed to be in the heart of Venice. The only downside was the mosquitos in the room. We weren't told about these and the first night was well you can say not comfortable. The next day the first thing...

Can't ask for much more for the price we paid. Centrally located but on a quiet enough street that noise isn't an issue. Close to the water bus (vaporetto) stop and an easy walk from the train station, as well as sights of st marks square. Recently renovated bathroom, rest of the room was nice, clean, and properly functioning. Staff...

We stayed in the hotel for two nights. The owner is super friendly. The rooms have a certain flair that fits to the city (we had the top floor room). The breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast. All you need for a good start into the day. The location is perfect. Many nice bars and restaurants but not too touristic....

Marco, the host was nice and helpful. B&B Location was perfect and great value too. Room is small but this is Venice! I love that the rooms are very Venetian, not modern but I don't care. I love the venetian touch! Place is near a Traghetto stop, so it's very accessible. Breakfast was lovely, typical.

My friend and I stayed in mid July and found Al Campaniel to be a pleasant and well-located B&B in Venice. We really enjoyed that it was in S. Polo and away from the crowds of San Marco but still located within walking distance of all the atttractions. Our room was comfortable especially with the A/C in the middle of...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
