We stayed 3 nights at this hotel while in Venice. The location is excellent as it is only a few stops via the #1 vaporetto (San Stae) from the Santa Lucia train station. Just walk straight from the stop and you will see the entrance on your left (less than 100m). We stayed in the annex on the 3rd floor...

Arrived in Venice late and this hotel is 100 feet from a water taxi stop. Convenient. Very nice property on quiet street. Close to main corso to San Marco. Rooms well done and comfortable. High ceiling are nice. Very quiet neighborhood.

Excellent hotel that is very close to the San Stae vaparetto stop. Our room (5) had a balcony overlooking a canal. Small but lovely room. (Note: There was some noise because the water entrance is located directly below the balcony. You could also hear people talking outside.) The room was too warm, but the gentleman that carried our bag kindly...

Fantastic hotel, great staff, great location out of the hustle and bustle but only 10 min walk to St Marks square and 50 meters to San Stae vaporretto stop, with great local restaurants just around the corner. La Zucca is a must with a menu with a difference, reasonably priced but you need to book as very busy with locals...

Spent two nights in this hotel. Love how easy it is to get around by water transportations where The San Stae stop is just right by the hotel. It is very easy to travel to and from the airport or just a trip down the Grand Canal. It is a very quiet and safe place to stay and I highly...

Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo in Venice, Italy was very good. Very Clean. I stayed in the Annex across the canal. It was a large room(s). I actually stayed three nights in room 4 and then my last night in room 5 on the second floor. Bathrooms were large and clean. Beds and linens were fresh. Refrigerator in each room was...

We absolutely LOVED this hotel. If you are looking for a 5 star, or a Hilton or Marriott with all the luxuries of hotel chains, this place is not for you. But if you want to experience traditional Venetian charm with incredibly warm hotel hosts, with beautifully decorated rooms, this is for you. Our room and the whole hotel was...

stayed for 3 nights in room 56 double sup. room, with a small terrace & table & chairs & sun umbrella. For a 2 star hotel as other reviewers say , it's amazing. Owners and staff very helpful and friendly. Handy for the vaporetto stop, walking, restaurants etc and nice to return to a quiet part after spending the day...

The breakfast was fresh and as much as you wanted. The hotel is located just 50 mtrs from the water bus station in the heart of venice. We will definitely be...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
