We spent five nights in December at this small, modest hotel, which is just a 1-minute walk from the San Stae vaporetto stop. It was our fourth stay here, and our expectations of a comfortable room, cordial staff, quiet environment and delicious breakfasts were more than met. Our double superior room on the first floor (second floor in the United States) overlooked a narrow canal. The immaculate room featured a high, wooden-beamed ceiling; wall tapestry; furnishings with an antique appearance; a small refrigerator; storage space; and a safe. Our bed had the perfect mattress for a good night’s sleep. Everyone, who worked at Reception, proved to be upbeat and helpful, making reservations, looking up information and checking schedules. When we arrived, the man on duty took our bags upstairs, as there is no elevator. The breakfast buffet, included in the room price, had myriad offerings, including pastries, eggs, bacon and fresh fruit. I considered the coffee to be quite good. Tables overlook the courtyard, where breakfast is served in good weather. We really like the hotel’s location. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood with nearby shops and restaurants but within easy access on foot to major tourist areas. The close vaporetto stop is extremely handy for getting to the railroad station and elsewhere, and the boat to and from the airport also stops there. A laundromat that we used with ease because of precise instructions in English is also fairly close. This reasonably priced, good-value hotel offers an 8 percent discount for cash.…
This hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of piazza San Marco but well placed to allow you to explore Venice on foot as well as being only metres from a vaporetto stop. Plenty of signs make getting around easy and the area has plenty of places to eat. The hotel owners are friendly and the breakfast area in the garden is delightful. Rooms are exceptional comfortable and air conditioned. We have recommended this hotel verbally to many travellers and look forward to staying here again next visit to Venice.
Just got back from a couple of nights at this hotel and i can’t think of a single thing I could fault. The manager is without a doubt the best manager of a hotel we’ve ever come across. He had loads of advice and was even calling around to various companies to identify the easiest way for us to get back to the airport yesterday when the tides were at 1.40m and too high for the water bus back to the airport. Hotel in centrally located and literally 100 meters from a vaparetto stop. Rooms are elegant and huge, breakfast was really good and every member of staff seems genuinely happy to be there and happy to see you. I will recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Venice and have no doubt we’ll return!!
I had a great stay at this Hotel, during some of the worst floods Venice has had. The staff went the extra mile to accomadate us by providing wellies, aswell as upgrading our room to ensure we wouldnt get flooded aswell as letting us check in early. I can’t reccomend this place enough, plus the location is brilliant easy walking distance to all the main attractions ( 15mins to st marks) Thanks so much for a fantastic stay !
We had an amazing 3 night stay here. Our room was in the Annexe with a canal view and below us was the little canal that separates the Annexe from the main building. Our room was beautifully decorated and a good size. We loved the pastries available at breakfast and the coffee was really good too. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, such a charming neighbourhood with wonderful restaurants nearby and seconds away from the Vaporetto stop. The staff were wonderful and I received a bottle of wine in the room as a birthday treat which was lovely. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!
"There is an adjoining 'annex' but we chose to stay in the main hotel building and found it to be very quiet."Read full review
