We were fortunate in trying to find a place where to live with native Venetians as next-door neighbours. Ca´Bonvicini is a calm, friendly corner of Venice. From our superior room with canal view and a tiny terrace the Venetians hurrying to their daily chores could be seen, but not heard. True, in the incredible labyrinth of the narrow lanes it...

What a great little place to stay in Venice. It's a bit off the main tourist track, but easily walkable to Rialto Bridge. We stayed in a smaller room (705) on the ground floor which is balanced by the nicely done setup and decoration. Another couple, friends of ours, also stayed at the hotel there, but in 708, an upstairs...

I went with my girlfriend during Carnival. The location was perfect, in that it is off the beaten trail, so we had MUCH less noise than if we were in the thick of things. The rooms are small, but not cramped, and exquisitely appointed. Ours had a beautiful balcony over a canal. The bathroom is modern and perfect and it...

Loved staying here in November. Room was a canal view, with small balcony. It was a good size, with a nice modern bathroom. Enjoyed having breakfast served to the room, a nice change. Easy to find following the map from San Stae. We enjoyed walking around Venice, and easily found our way back each time. Thought good value considering it...

I stayed here for a short wkend hop in Venice. Though the hotel was very clean, the rooms were nice, beds were comfortable, and in room breakfast was quite novel. Booked a second trip there already.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. The directions were perfect, and the experience was wonderful. We were able to sit out in the campo just down the street and experience neighborhood life. During the days we would pick a direction and explore. The staff were friendly, and the room was excellent. We will recommend Ca Bonvicini to anyone...

My "economy" room was a little small, but quite comfortable. At check-in Sabina was very helpful, and kind. I liked the location, away from the more hectic Rialto/S. Marco areas. B'fast was pretty good for continental. This was my most high priced B&B/hotel in 3 weeks in Italy, so it seems overpriced. Guess that's just the "Venice factor"

We read on the reviews and decided to stayed 3 nights in Ca' Bonvicini. We were given directions to the bed & breakfast and it did not take us too long to find our way there from the train station. We walked to the B&B and did not take the water taxi. Along the way there, we were able to...

We booked a double room with a canal view (it's only a small canal, not the Grand Canal!) and we were given the room with the private roof terrace which was very nice. The room is right at the top of the B&B so be aware when you have heavy suitcases to carry! We booked the B&B for 2 nights...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
