Stayed here from Saturday till Tuesday as a couple. A very friendly hotel and responded to my many messages on Facebook. Got at the hotel early but they allowed us straight into the room and gave us an upgrade with a front room with a balcony which was lovely. Lovely room just a little small, but we only slept there...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The location was quiet and drenched in history. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, very comfortable, very well equipped and you had a sense of travelling back in time to the soul of the Orient Express. The staff were magnificent - very helpful, extremely efficient and fluent in many languages. The room was ultra comfortable, very quiet and excellently equipped....

We had a three night stay in March and could not fault this hotel. It lived up to all our expectations after reading the very positive reviews. Being upgraded to a first floor room with a four poster bed and overlooking the canal helped - but we loved the ambience of the hotel, the friendliness of the the staff and...

Coming from the Marco Polo airport we took the Alilaguna to arrive in Venice. A great way the town welcomes you. We landed at Orto, which was just a couple of minutes walking from our hotel Ai Mori d'Oriente. Lovely located at one of the many canals. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was agreable and had...

This hotel was recommended by the BA city breaks and we were not disappointed. Staff friendly and helpul, there was a lot of choice at breakfast, rooms clean and tidy and situated away from the hustle and bustle from St. Mark's Square.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. The hotel is in the quiet backstreets of Venice there are some really nice little restaurants and wine bars 2 mins away. St Marcs square was a 20 min stroll, we got lost a million times but that's the fun! Walk , Wine, Repeat.... The hotel was VERY hot when we asked about air con...

Just returned from a spring break trip with two teenagers. A little gem of a hotel in Venice, everything is top notch, great customer service, it has to be one of the cleanest hotels that I have stayed in for a while, All attractions including the Rialto bridge are and St. Mark's are within walking distance, Many good restaurants are...

Just got back from a 4 night stay at this fabulous hotel. Check in was friendly, efficient and multi-lingual. The whole of the team simply can not do enough for you from the moment you arrive to the time of departure, they were attentive and pleasant without any overkill. The room we had was immaculately clean, with super comfy beds...

On arrival we were greeted by Arjol who informed us that we'd been upgraded to a junior suite (bonus!) and even though we arrived early we were able to check in straight away. We were also given a map of Venice which we used throughout our holiday with directions on how to get to all of the major places to...

This hotel is phenomenal. Absolutely top notch. The concierge Arjol and bartender/waiter extrordinaire Christian were absolutely delightful. (Everyone at the front desk was also lovely, however I forgot their names.) Upon arrival we were upgraded to an amazing two floor suite that had a spectacular view of the hotel's central courtyard. The suite had such lovely decor and the attention...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
