Me and my boyfriend have just got back from spending 2 nights here and I'm already wanting to rush back to this stunning hotel! From the minute you walk through the entrance doors it's exactly what you'd expect and more! The staff are very helpful directing you to anywhere you need to be. Having read previous comments we expected the...

What a great hotel , we arrived by boat taxi which is 5 min walk from the waters edge , the hotel is in the Jewish ghetto which was lovely a bit quieter than the hustle of the main areas , there were good restaurants nearby and only 5 min walk to Main Street which takes you to Rialto brigde...

Myself and my boyfriend have just got back from a 4 day trip to Venice we stayed in the Ai Mori'd'Oriente Hotel. The hotel was decorated to a good standard (modern) very clean, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned twice a day and little chocolates left on an evening with bottled water. The basic room...

DECEMBER 2016 A seven night stay just before Christmas was faultless. From check in to departure every aspect of our stay could not have been better. Ai Mori is located on a quiet canal in the Canareggio district, close to the Jewish ghetto, and five minutes from the nearest vaporetto stop, dell 'Orto. Train station is probably less than fifteen...

We thought this place was a gem. It is just slightly away from the main drag, so nice and quiet, but still very close to the main areas of Cannaregio and has bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The room was great, lots of nice touches and the staff were super. A bottle of fizz brought gratis...

Quiet part of cannaregio on a canal. Well positioned and local feel. Need to cross 3 bridges from train station. Clean, quiet with lovely ambiance. Helpful staff. Breakfast very good. Smallish room but functional. Very good value.

Being in the Cannaregio district, Hotel Ai Mori d'Oriente is sufficiently away from the hustle and bustle of all the tourist attractions in Venice but close enough to get to them (25 mins to St Mark's Square). We accessed the hotel via the Alilaguna 'boat bus' (Orange route) from the airport and were charged 25 Euros each for a return...

Spent 3 nights at this quaint hotel and no bad words to say. The room double for single use was perfect for one, for two would have been very cosy. Heating worked a treat, spotless clean and bed and bedding excellent standard and spot on comfort. The shower had power and lots of hot water. Loved the turn down service...

Stayed August 10 & 11, 2016. We chose this hotel based on good reviews and location. Very well kept up older hotel near the Jewish ghetto and Campo dei Mori section of Venice. It was away from the tourist meccas, so nice and quiet with lots of locals, but a short walk to the water tax to visit all the...

Went and stayed for 3 days in Venice for the New Year. Was a pleasure in staying at this Hotel. Reception staff were polite and very helpful and always smiling. Really helped us with maps and suggestions and organised the highlight of the trip, a water taxi to watch the fireworks on New Years eve/Cant fault the staff in anyway...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
