We LOVED the location of this beautiful place! So quiet and peaceful, yet minutes from anything you'd care to see or do. Alessandra was incredibly helpful and extremely accommodating. We can't say enough positive things about our stay here. We will DEFINITELY be back!!

We booked through Trip Advisor and had frequent updates from Alessandra, the owner of the property. We were provided an excellent map to help us locate the hotel, and found it on our own with little difficulty after taking the vapors to from the train station. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. Alessandra brought us our breakfast each morning....

We stayed here for a few nights at the end of our honeymoon and simply fell in love with it. We had a canal side bedroom which had a lovely pretty view of the canal beneath it and the local neighbourhood. Being a little bit of the beaten track was perfect. The B and B serve a tasty breakfast to...

Venice is magical and was made more so by both this small hotel and the family that ran it. I have never loved loud noise and crowds, which are hard to avoid in any major city. But at Ca' San Trovaso we avoided both. Located along a small canal near the Accademia Museum, we experienced quiet nights, as well as...

Had a three day stay in Venice - was looking for a quiet hotel in a central location. Ca'San Trovaso seemed to tick all the boxes. Upon or arrival at Venice Airport a water taxi soon had us on our way to a stop odd which was only a five min walk to the Ca'San Trovaso.. Upon our arrival a...

Arriving by train to the City of Venice, we hopped on a very crowded vaparetto, and were soon deposited in the lovely Dorsoduro neighborhood. It was then just a short walk to Hotel Ca' San Trovaso. We were warmly greeted by our gracious hosts and quickly settled into our spacious and comfortable rooms. Our windows overlooked a small quiet canal,...

Don't overlook the common theme in the reviews, this is in a perfect location. Far enough away from the touristy hustle & bustle but close enough to walk everywhere. It is so very quiet and you really do feel like your staying at a friends place. Well kept property with a good shower and comfortable beds. Alessandra is friendly and...

July is a busy time in Venice, so it was a relief to come back to Ca’ San Trovaso after a long day of sightseeing among the crowds. The inn is tucked away on a quiet street, overlooking a canal, but is convenient to everything—including several vaporetto stops and the Accademia Bridge. Our room—while not large (this is Venice, after...

Here is a delightful gem in the quiet Dorsoduro neighborhood of Venice. Just off of the Zattere and within easy reach of such important sites as the Accademia Museum, the Guggenheim and the Frari. And quite close to a vaparetto stop, which is very important. Off the beaten path, this is a calm enclave on a sweet, peaceful canal. The...

We loved this place! This intimate hotel was perfect for us. We needed a triple room for my husband, son, and I. We had the room on the 1st floor by the front door and front desk. We initially worried that it would be loud but there were actually 2 doors between our room and the main area, purposely to...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
