Really very nice and clean room, location is very important and this hotel is very good location just five minutes walking distance to San Marco. Many restaurants and delicious food. Hotel security system is good in fact all hotels like same type of security. Breakfast is very limited items but good.

We booked this hotel with Expedia weeks before our December 31st New Year's Eve visit and received a confirmation and itinerary number. We arrived with a confirmation from Expedia verified 2 days before. On arrival the receptionist said the reservation had been canceled by the manager. I called Expedia and confirmed our reservation but the hotel was fully booked. The...

Dear guests, we are really sorry to have received this false review. We would like to make clear that, the guests have been never booked at our hotel, had just phoned to get information on the availability of a roo, but without confirming the booking with a credit card. Despite having no official booking, occurred equally at our hotel, any...

Email how to get to this hotel from the train station or the airport! Location is ideal with Rialto Bridge and San Marco's Square only 3-4 mins. No lifts and lots of stairs so tough to get luggage up,

Do not stay here, this is nothing like advertised. It was dirty and the breakfast was appalling. I have been to Venice before and stayed in lovely but basic hotels this was the worst by far. Not even a clean glass in the room for a drink of water. The staff didn't speak or appear to care. Never going there...

Very good location - less than 5min walk from Rialto Bridge and 10min walk from San Marco Square. Nice, clean and big room. Actually it is surprisingly nice since it is located in an old building with an almost unnoticeable door. However, breakfast is pretty bad for this price. Waitress during breakfast is a bit rude and constantly there is...

I stayed at La Campana for two nights during my break in Venice. We were very well looked after by Zina and the rest of the staff at La Campana and had a very good night's sleep. The breakfast was nice and the location is ideal with many shops nearby and within a very short distance to San Marco's square....

We made a reservation at the Residenza La Campana along with our friends. The reservation was confirmed. We traveled from Qatar and our friends travelled from the USA. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the hotel was full and we would be placed in the sister hotel Resindenza Lugana which is at least a 15 minute...

A beautiful and stylish room, clean and spacious. The staff is nice and breakfast OK. The Residence is situated in a restored building right in the heart of old Venice. Note that the upside of the location for us maybe problematic for others as it is noisy so if you like peace and quiet that is not the place for...

It has been our first time in Venice. We were so excited by the city, that no imperfections in the hotel could spoilt it really :) And whatever watch-outs I had in the hotel, were more of a "imperfection" nature rather than a disaster. First and foremost - as every other review about this place outlines - the location is...

If we come again to venice this will be our choice again. 200m of the Rialto station (alilaguna orange line from airport) Upsides: Location location location!!! Kind service. Price relative to other hotels Downsides: Noise from the street. Broken shower Minimal breakfast

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
