This hotel exceeded our expectations - the room as grand and spacious with high ceilings and the whole building was absolutely gorgeous. The room was clean and extremely comfortable and the hallways are so wide that you barely notice the other guests. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and always polite. The location was also handy - close...

This was a lovely Venetian hotel in a ideal location, close enough to the centre but far enough away from the crowds. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and Murano glass lighting. The room was very clean and had a huge double bed. The only down side would be the brick wall and alley way view from our bedroom...

I would like to express to everyone how much this hotel made our Venice experience PERFECT. Every request was met with a positive. The staff was perfect 24 hours a day. One issue popped up - I work from my laptop and much to my surprise, I did not have a good WIFI signal in my room upon check-in. I...

This was the only three star hotel I booked on our trip to Italy last summer, but we are a family of four and were travelling in peak times so the price was right. We were not disappointed at all. On the contrary, we really enjoyed this hotel. It was very Venetian. The staff were very friendly, starting with our...

My family stayed 2 nights in the hotel. We used two rooms: a double and a triple. The triple was very good, very large, with additional facilities not included in the double. But in both everything worked properly. The staff was very professional. The localization is great.

Friendly hotel in an excellent location for an amazing price. Enjoyed our stay but if we go again, and as we are British, would take our own tea bags. If booking this hotel book direct via their own website for the extras but be prepared to pursue them once you are there.

The hotel staff were polite, warm and helpful. We had a spacious and warm room with a clean and tidy bathroom. The breakfast nook was a treat with a steady flow of breakfast delights. The location is good and it was easy to walk to the main attractions. We will certainly return to stay at the hotel the next time...

Stayed here with my girlfriend on New Years Day. Only had 1 night booked but the staff couldn't have done anymore for us. Room was spacious & had everything we wished for. Location was also great. Fab hotel that will be first on our list to book next time we visit beautiful Venice. Thanks for a great stay.

Our stay in Venice was a fantastic experience which was only enhanced with the care and attention given by the staff. Our room was superb and the location was ideal for access to all the areas we wished to see. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend palazzo Vitturi as a base for any Venice visit

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
