Our stay in Al Teatro was more than just a pleasure. It was a little oasis in a hot, crowded tourist swollen city. If you must travel to Venice in July, like many families with school age children, there is no better place to stay than Al Teatro B&B. It's location is just far enough from Piazza St. Marco to...

messaggioWe stayed with Eleonora in Sept 2010. Perfect location, Perfect hostess. Eleonora was a perfect hostess. Supplying us with anything we wanted (advice, directions, reservations, espresso, breakfast of choice, quiet time, and conversation). She knows that his what he wants to do, and cherishes that her guest allow her the opportunity to do fullfill this dream. If we ever return...

My Mom and I traveled through Italy last spring and stayed for 4 days in Venice at Al teatro B & B. Right from the get-go, our hosts were wonderful - Fabio met us at the water bus and guided us back to the B & B (he even carried my bag over the bridge) and Eleonora was warm, friendly,...

I stayed in Al Teatro in May 2011 and had a wonderful time. The location of the accommodation couldn't be more central or more Venetian. Just hop on the Vaporetto from the train station and hop off at a stone's throw from Al Teatro - No steps or bridges to navigate with your suitcase. Instantly you feel as though you...

My husband and I stayed here the end of October, 2011 for 3 nights before boarding a cruise ship. We booked the Green Room, with a lovely view of two canals converging, and it was perfect for us. Best decision we could have made was to stay here. Her suggestions from before the beginning of our trip (To take the...

Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews we booked a seven night stay at Al Teatro. We were NOT disappointed. We got the water bus from Marco Polo airport to San Marco and then it was just a ten minute walk to the B&B. Yes there are steps up within the house to the B&B but we travelled with rucksacks so this was...

Our recent stay at Al Teatro was great. The best review I can give is that whenever we return to Venice we will be staying at Eleanora's place (Al Teatro B&B). We felt as though we lived in Venice; easy walking distance, pleasant accommodations, wonderful people. The views from our room were great - overlooking the canals, colorful buildings, picturesque walking...

In late August while touring Italy my wife and I stayed three days in Venice. We selected to stay in the San Marcos area. After an extensive search for the right place we picked "B&B Al Teatro". We were not disappointed. Al Teatro is a historic three bedroom residence located next to the Opera House and less than five minutes...

We stayed 3 nights at the recommendation of our friends and it was the highlight of our Italian holiday. Wonderful location close to everything but quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. Ample space in 1 room for 2 aduts and one child. Eleanora was always so helpful with her advice. Our room looked down over the canal and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
