This is a small B&B in a very, very good location in the heart of Venice. The rooms are very good, and you are right on a canal. Several times a day you can pop on to your balcony and have a listen and see Gondoliers singing opera to their passengers as they pass immediately below you. Its pretty special....

This is an excellent b&b. The owner Elanora is very helpful and advises everybody. It is clean with large rooms. The only small downside is that the breakfast is all cold products. There isn't any toast or eggs etc. There are platters of cheese, cereal, different breads and fresh coffee. I would stay here again.

This charming B&B is tucked away in a quiet oasis just a few minutes away from the Grand Canal and St Mark's Square. It is perfect for people who are looking for the real Venice in a real Venetian home, and Eleonora (the owner) is a mine of incredibly helpful information, with suggestions of places to eat, walking itineraries etc....

Small bed and breakfast on a quiet canal right behind the Fenice (opera theatre). There are three good sized rooms that are named by the color of the chandlier and they overlook a quiet canal that has singing gondalas go by during the day. It is very clean and Eleonara is very helpful and responsive with suggestions. Book today as...

Superb and very central location, Eleonora's B&B is within close reach of main sights such as St Marco's square and Rialto. Eleonora was an excellent, knowledgable and helpful host, always warm and hospitable. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Ours overlooked the canals and gondoliers passing by below our window. perfect!

Eleonora 's small B and B is the authentic Italian experience. It is in a beautiful old house, centrally located. The bedroom was comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were great. Although close to St Mark's Square, it is in a very quiet backwater. Eleonora was extemely helpful telling us over breakfast many useful sites and a lot of generally...

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children visited Venice in October 2016 and spent 4 nights at Al teatro, we had adjoining rooms and it was spot on. Eleonora was a wonderful host. As a third or fourth generation Venician she guided us to all the good spots to eat and was able to answer all our questions about...

This was my second stay at Eleonora’s wonderful B&B. It is very comfortable, attractive, and clean. The rooms are lovely and I have now stayed in two different ones – the pink and the green rooms; both excellent. The B&B is also up to date technologically and uses plastic key cards, which look like a credit card, to open doors...

My wife and I spent three nights at Al Teatro. Great location, conveniently in between Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's, but still very quiet. Wonderful old home, in which our host Eleonora grew up. Fresco on dining room ceiling is older than United States. Still with everything we expected in top flight bed and breakfast. Eleonora was very helpful. Great...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
