My wife and I have visited Venice several times in recent years. On the last two occasions we have lived at 'Al Teatro', a fantastically situated Bed and Breakfast premise, ideal for our 'out and about' type of holiday. The owner, Eleanora, is really helpful and knowledgeable on all aspects of Venice having been born and brought up in this...

This was our first time in Venice, staying at Al Teatro for three nights and Eleonora couldn't have been more helpful. She advised us on water bus schedules, restaurants, sightseeing and even helped us out in a crisis, going above and beyond expectations. The B&B is very clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom with a tub/shower. The cold breakfast...

This charming B&B has 3 rooms and is really delightful. The beds are super comfortable and your host Eleonora is great company and very informative and helpful. Breakfast is great. The location is fantastic literally across the canal from Teatro Fenice and 10mins walk from the Basilica

The hotel only has three rooms, so it is very quaint. We stayed in the Amber room and it is fantastic! A small balcony provides views of a canal and the huge doors to the balcony allow in air and light. The location is very good and Eleonora is a wonderful host. Her breakfast was wonderful and exhibited variety each...

We stayed with Eleonora in her charming small B&B for three nights and loved being in the middle of Venice - perfect location. Every morning we started our day with a healthy delicious breakfast that included a nice conversation with Eleonora and several other guests. It was very nice getting to know a true Venetian - and they are getting...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights last week in Eleonora's beautiful B&B. She is a most gracious host who offers directions and recommendations of restaurants and sites to see. We stayed in the Amber Room which was very clean, comfortable, and we fell in love with the beautiful bathroom and shower. Our room had a balcony that overlooked...

This was the perfect place for our family of 6. Eleanora was so very helpful in every way. Not only did we feel at home, but we felt pampered at the same time. If ever we go to Venice again we would stay at this B&B.

We had the most glorious 3 nights in April staying with Eleonora at her beautiful B&B in Venice. The room was very clean, the breakfast was beautifully prepared and Eleonora was incredibly helpful giving us all of her extensive locals knowledge on places to eat and visit. Highly recommended, we will be back soon!

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of April. The room is simple, charming, clean and comfortable beds. Lovely and peaceful but so close to everything. However, the reason we chose to stay here was because Eleonora was said to be such a helpful owner. We were not disappointed!!!! Her recommendations were perfect and we felt that we...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
