Hotel Mignon offers rooms in the very heart of Venice for a very reasonable price. Although located very near San Apostoli chruch, the lodge was in a backstreet and away from the touristic crowds. As a result it was a little bit too dark for my taste, but this is to be expected in Venice, unless you are staying in...

The staff at hotel mignon were exceptional, which made up for the exquisitely small rooms. However we were pleasantly surprised by the balcony in our room which we were not expecting, the hotel lobby provides travel books to read at leisure and included breakfast was a treat. This hotel exceeded our expectations and specifically the staff was exceptional. They provide...

Nice Little hotel. Clean and proper with well-equipped breakfast table. Friendly people. Fine location close to Canale Grande and easy to find, ev.by boat directly from the Airport. Some good restaurants near by.

I stayed at Hotel Mignon with my mother in October for three nights. We found our room both clean and comfortable. The breakfast spread was impressive. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Sorrento was an ideal place to explore the area around Napoli and the Amalfi Coast. If we could do it over again, my mother and I both...

Great hotel - easy to find behind the SS Apoli church. We walked with children from airport water bus from Rialto bridge. Around the corner you have lots of options to eat- restaurants, cafes, supermarket, McDonalds. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was great. Delighted they held our bags after checkout. They couldn't be nicer.

This hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable with a good breakfast and free WIFI. The location is excellent, a 10-minute walk to the Fondamente nove vaporetto that takes you to the airport or Murano island, and an easy 20-minute walk to the main tourist sites on Piazza San Marco, and even less to the Rialto Bridge. The staff were very...

Spent four nights here (20-24 Oct 2015) with my daughter and grandson. Really warm and welcoming reception; room cleaned and tidied daily; plentiful towels; tea making facility in room. Highlight was the delightful garden area for breakfasts, which were plentiful. Could not find fault with this stay at all.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
