My boyfriend and I recently visited hotel Tiziano on a trip throughout Italy and this was my favorite hotel that we stayed at. The male front desk manager doubled as a concierge, he was so helpful. When we checked in he walked with us up to the room on the third floor (no elevator here as it seems with most...

We had a great stay - location was perfect for us. It was an easy walk from the train station and into the busier parts of Venice. Staff were friendly and helpful - we appreciated being able to leave are bags before check in and after check out. Room was a good size and bed was comfortable.

As with most European Cities Venice has got busier over the years. Even at Christmas the popular areas are densely packed with tourists and even the islands such as Burano have become quite unpleasant. The beauty of Venice is that you can walk a few yards and you lose the crowds and yet still be captivated by the architecture and...

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my girlfriend and it was great! Upon arrival late at night we were kindly greeted by Diego, a cheerful and helpful young man who made us a proposal: we could stay in the classic room we booked as planned or upgrade to the apartment for free! (It was a calm week apparently)We...

We booked this hotel due to reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. This hotel is great! Run by kind helpful staff, it's spotlessly clean. The hotel is decorated with traditional furniture give it a truly authentic feel with heavy stylish curtains, comfortable beds and painted wooden wardrobes all in keeping with Venice's history. Beamed ceilings and solid floor...

We stayed in 3 hotels in Italy and this place was our favorite. We arrived and the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. She gave us a map and spent a good 20 or so minutes talking to us about where to go and what to avoid. She helped us figure out a way to get to the airport (which...

My DH and I stayed at Hotel Tiziano for 3 nights two weeks ago. We walked to the hotel from airport shuttle bus station at Piazza Roma. It took us about 30 minutes because it wasn't easy to find the hotel even with the direction we got from the hotel. In Italy, street names are on the wall of the...

Very friendly hotel, clean full of Venetian charm. We upgraded to room 303 - a lovely, airy room cleaned daily. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The only downside is that the hotel is a little difficult to find on arrival but once we found our bearings liked the fact that the hotel location was in a quiet area.

The hotel has a great location in Dorsoduro. You can do everything under a walking distance (including San Polo / San Marco), and this becomes a great advantage to explore the mild nightlife Venice has to offer at the Santa Margherita square (just be sure to bring a map and a flashlight to find your way back, because after all...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
