Hotel was a wonderful jewel. The reception service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. Giorgio, the owner, recieved us and provided fantastic suggestions on things to do and how to get there. Was the perfect concierge. The hotel included an amazing breakfast served in a beautiful room with view to the Grand Canal. The location was very good and...

The staff was wonderful and we love this place. Morning breakfast with windows on the Grand Canal was very pleasant. Met a lady from Belgium who comes for a week every year. They kept our bags safely for us before and after we checked in and out. It was very secure and pleasant.

This hotel is conveniently located to everything. We had a side canal view room, which was lovely, but if you can get a Grand Canal view room - the view would be spectacular. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. The breakfast was delicious - great assortment and beautiful view of the Grand Canal. I would definitely...

We stayed two nights in the Junior Suite which overlooks the Grand Canal. The accommodations are very nice. The room is good size with a king size bed and there is another day bed if you have a child or other guest with you. The room is equipped with air conditioning, a jacuzzi tub/shower. The private water taxi will take...

anywhere you stay in Venice will have pros & cons but if you realize it is a walking vacation, you can easily see only pros. that is the case here with a staff looking to make your stay special (including a to go breakfast when we were leaving before breakfast was served)

We enjoyed everything about our stay in Venice at Ca'Angeli. Beautiful location right on the Grand Canal, a few minutes walk from Rialto and even closer to a Vaporetto line 1 stop. Staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast had lots of fresh, high-quality choices, served in beautiful room overlooking the Grand Canal. Our room had a huge roof-top...

What a great place to stay at. The rooms were clean and spacious. Right in the heart of the San Palo district. Much better than the crowds of San Marco. Very difficult to find, but the hotel assured me that the confirmation they sent me had good directions that I did not read. Just a few steps away from the...

This hotel was fantastic. The greeting was the best I had in Italy and I had been to four other places. The reception was helpful, actually took us to the room, explained the city and best things to see. Such a friendly person and extremely helpful and thoughtful. The location was great and it was clean. Absolutely would stay again....

We stayed here for two nights and found the staff excellent. You could not be in a better location, 5 minute walk to Rialto bridge, close to restaurants, shops and only a two minute walk to a vaperetta stop. It was also I a secluded location which was very quiet at night. The breakfast tables look over the grand canal....

Situated overlooking Grand Canal. Junior suite windows a joy to look out of. Close to Rialto Bridge and the myriads of small cafes in San Polo. 5 minute walk to nearest waters stop. Staff very helpful - especially for local restaurants. Breakfast exceptional, especially with view over canal. Recommended

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
