Me and my partner stayed at the Palazzetto Madonna in April 2017. The overall trip was amazing and this was one of 2 hotels we stayed at in Venice. It is a bit father from some of the main attractions like Doges' Palace/ St. Mark's Square but it is in a nice quite location and walking to main attractions are...

Is hotel is fantastic, small and so friendly, the staff could not have been more helpful. Room was amazing, very spacious with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the cutest courtyard, where breakfast was also served, you could sit in the courtyard in the evening for a drink and a relax after a days exploring. So many fab restaurants close by, all...

The location was great & 3mins walk to the vaparetto station. Room was spacious and comfortable, a bottle of prosecco was readily waiting for us in the room upon arrival. We had a small terrace & bathtub. very unique boutique hotel experience. Our room was located on the 1st floor, right next to a central 'dining / living room'. can...

Perfect location and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. From Marco Polo we took the bus to Venice and from there took the water bus to the San Toma dock. He hotel was a short walk. However, when we went back to the airport we walked to the bus station instead of taking the water bus to save time....

We arrived at this tiny hotel right off of the Grand Canal without a clue what to expect of Venice. We came for our honeymoon, but didn't tell the hotel staff. It was meant to be a nice, relaxed, romantic four days in Venice. On arrival, we were given a nice room, complete instructions and map to all the locally-recommended...

Wow what can I say.. This hotel was the icing on the cake of our trip to Venice 😍 Me and my husband went to Venice to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived here at the hotel we were greeted by a gentleman who was very friendly and polite. After checking in we were then shown to our...

Quiet and good location, good breakfast, room had balcony (through shower!) rooms very small but dont really need more space. No food/room service fyi. Service at front desk wasn't very friendly but weren't rude either - average. Took free taxi from hotel to Murano glass shop but you are only able to visit the one place they bring you and...

The hotel is in a brilliant location away from the hussle and bustle, despite being yards from the grand canal. The staff were very informative and helped us with numerous questions. The breakfast was good, loads of choice. Only downside was the hard bed and pillows, however this is just personal preference.

Our stay was pleasant. The room was a little small but overall very clean hotel. The breakfast was good as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The noise isn't too bad from the canal. Just a little in the morning, but you don't go to Venice to sleep through the day anyway.

This is a lovely hotel, with a great view on the river; very romantic and comfortable. If you want to use the metro-boat, the nearest station is just a 5min walk away. The rooms are big, clean, comfy, and very high-tech: you have a TV in a huge mirror, and the curtains can be opened and closed electronically. Highly recommended....

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
