Hotel Moresco a beautiful almost boutique hotel. A great location , only a short walk to car rental drop off, bus station and all the ferries. The staff were so friendly and efficient in all manners of tourism. The evening canapés were incredible and free !! Breakfast great choice in terrace garden or dining room. Our room was immaculate with...

Without a doubt, the most pleasant, helpful and friendliest staff I have ever encountered. I find it hard to see how you could have a more pleasant stay in Venice. The nightly scrumptious happy hour from 6.30-8.00 every evening ensured we had a much reduced amount needed to spend on food whilst in the city! Would recommend without a doubt.

We arrived to Hotel Moresco and were greeted with complimentary glass of prosecco and beer. As we waited for our room we admired the hotel and its lovely garden. Once we went up to the room we were blown away by the room, big for European standards and that shower was amazing! As was the complimentary bottle of prosecco which...

My wife and I went to Venice on our honeymoon and we wanted everything to be perfect. The tripadvisor reviews of Moresco suggested it was the best place to stay in Venice and it certainly didnt disappoint. Even from before we arrived and we were just emailing the service was on point. They ordered us a private...

The Hotel Moresco is a terrific hotel, which absolutely deserves its great rating on TripAdvisor. It is located near the train station, which is convenient when arriving in Venice. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We could not have been treated any better. The rooms are large and comfortable with very nice bathrooms/showers. The complimentary appetizers in the evening...

My husband and I hail from Manhattan and immensely enjoyed staying at the Hotel Moresco in July 2016 as a short visit in Venice before departing on a Mediterranean cruise for two weeks. We took an exhilarating water taxi from the Venice airport straight to the hotel, and as we arrive in the building after a 20-minute boat ride we...

The hotel is located in a very pleasant and calm area, waking distance from most of the Venice attractions. It's small, new, very clean. Service is very good, the staff is nice and very helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay at Moresco.

Very nice hotel that was only a ten minute walk from the train station which made transport very convenient. We only spent one night but found the hotel very nice at the bar and our room very comparable. Plus staff were helpful with directions and requests.

We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Moresco. The staff was fantastic -- helping us with tour suggestions, restaurant reservations and transportation. The breakfast and the happy hour were excellent. The hotel is located very near to the train station. Piazza San Marco is at least a 20 minute walk (and we are fast walkers) but there...

This hotel was a recommendation and I am so happy I have good friends with good taste. Upon arrival while our room was prepared we were greeted with Negronis and appetizers. The concierge on staff was so helpful explaining all the amenities from a trip to Murano to snacks at 6:30 provided by the hotel. She was also kind enough...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
