Awesome. The heart of Venice is the last place you would expect to find such a modern, fantastic hotel. But we really lucked out with the PB. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. While the guidebooks promote the traditional grand hotels near the grand canal and San Marco Square, to me that is the last...

Excellent value for this wonderfully located hotel - about 100 meters away from San Marco, overlooking a small romantic canal. Room design is just...Italian, modern design Italian, which adds an awesome dimension to this under-rated hotel. We stayed in a gigantic junior suite that was one of the nicest rooms I ever stayed in - and I am well travelled....

I just ran across our vacation pics to Italy today and it reminded me to submit this review. My husband and I visited Rome (June 12-16) and Venice (from June 16-19) for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and had a fabulous time staying at the Palace B. The hotel was absolutely wonderful. I had been to Venice as a teenager and...

I have no idea why this hotel is listed as a 2 star. For it is truly a 4 star. I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights this summer, and althought this hotel has very little things to do at it, itsself, meaning no resturant except breakfast, i has one quality that is perfect. LOCATION It is nesseled in...

What an amazing find. My boyfriend and I spent 3 days in Venice last week at this lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel offered everything you could possibly want. We were upgraded to a junior suite and it was wonderful! This modern, clean, air conditioned hotel was lovely to come back to after a tiring...

My husband and I ended our 10 day Italy vacation on a high note at the PB. What can I write that hasn't already been expressed by previous reviewers? This hotel is simply the best. I am more than adept at finding great deals/promotions so we are afforded the luxury of staying at leading hotels of the world or 5...

We spent three days celebrating university graduation with our two children, the whole Venice experience is captivating but the quality of this hotel definitely added to our enjoyment. The location is brilliant, so close to St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, with the rest of the city easily accessible on foot. The decor is wonderfully contemporary but fits the...

My husband and I stayed at the Palace Bonvecchiati in April this year on our honeymoon. We'd never been to Venice before and didn't really know what to expect but we loved everything about it! Venice itself is amazing but very, very busy at Easter! The hotel is modern and in an excellent location - turn left out of the...

We loved the Palace Bonvecchiati. We are very picky travelers and found the PB to be an excellent hotel and an excellent value; it's not inexpensive, but for the quality and size of the rooms, it's a good deal. The location is terrific -- very central, yet quiet --and the rooms are large, beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. We particularly...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
