A reasonably nice hotel in a great location, does the job for a relatively cheap visit to venedig!

This place is located above a whole lot of touristy shops and restaurants, for the location it is cheap and the rooms are clean and pretty spacious for European accommodation. The only downside was having to go to the front desk (across the street from the rooms) everytime you wanted to enter your room... always felt a bit guilty if...

Stayed in this hotel upon recommendation in Lonely Planet guide. The hotel was very clean and staff were courteous and helpful. If considering staying here ensure to ask for a room with Air Conditioning and NOT at the front facing the street - you will not sleep due to the noise from the constant flow of people outside til 5...

i believe it was because we didnt look fancy enough that we ended up with the shocking room we were given on checking in to this hotel. the positives are that it was near the train station so you didnt get lost looking for it (inner Venice is a maze). the staff were fairly courteous and the breakfast wasnt bad...

The location of this hotels is good. You are about 20 mins away from The Rialto and Piazza San Marcos. Breakfast is basic but good. The downside about this hotel is that rooms are humid and full of mosquitoes! I couldn't sleep on my first night there. It is also a little expensive for what the hotel offers but this...

I've been searching for a cheap hotel in Venice for a long time. Then, I found this hotel with very cheap price as I and my friend prefered the budget trip. As you walk along the way close to train station, you will find a small, very small hotel on your left. Staffs are all friendly and nice. Pros- low...

Clean and friendly hotel, with nice, old furnitures. Our room was facing onto a terrace with plants and the house next to us with hung-out clothes, for me it was tipically Italian and therefore charming. The hotel's location is perfect! 10 minutes walk to railway station and the bus station. There is a lot of restaurants and shops near the...

Let's put things into perspective, you're in the middle of Venice, the location is amazing, you step out of the hotel into a beautiful square, there's loads to eat and drink, it's marvellous! Really great rates at this hotel, the continental breakfast was always filling, the waitress in the morning was lovely and friendly. The room was a good size...

I had some doubts about booking a hotel without en-suite bathrooms but thought other bathrooms would be available to use- wrong- the Minerva provides 1 shower room between 3 floors. It does provide a sink in your room- but the taps leak so it helps to keep you awake and concentrates your mind on how you have to go along...

For me it' s a nice and good hotel. The room is large, across the street, but they have little basic rooms too. We have good luck to gave us this room, it's clean, and the furniture it's ok. The bathroom it's nice, and very clean all the time. The staff are very friendly especially the blond women for the...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
