Very satisfied with my stay. It was what i expected and more.....yes it's basic, it is priced low. The bed was comfortable, the room clean with maid service. I had a room on the third floor with a terrace, shared bathroom and toilet. The bathroom and toilet was cleaned every morning and i never had to wait for the shower....

My friend and I was very positively surprised by this place! We looked around a lot before booking this, and it easily beat many other places. Very good price for such an amazing location, too. The room was in the building across the street from the check-in, but no problem there. There was shared bathrooms, but as there was only...

The location is very near the train terminal. Room was okay except there is no lift ,therefore u have to carry your luggage. Value for money. We didn't take the simple breakfast as there are restaurants nearby where u can have decent Chinese food.

We arrived at the hotel to find that for some reason we couldn't stay at their hotel, instead of calling us in advance so we could get book another hotel (we had booked months in advance) they had organised for us to stay at their "sister" hotel on Murano island and gave us a travel card to use. This was...

I booked a room here, but for some reason we could not stay and was told we would stay at the "sister" hotel on Murano island. We were given a ticket to use the water buses as much as we liked however it was annoying as we were 20-45 min boat ride further than where we thought we were staying...

Avoid this hotel if you can. I had made my reservation long time before my stay, nevertheless they made me change rooms during my stay. You cant be sure if your room will have a bathroom or not. The receptionists are impolite and unwilling. And it is not true there is free WiFi. You have to pay for it, but...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
