While ideally located and a beautiful facility, I have never been treated so rudely by anyone in the hospitality business as at this hotel. Traveling with a friend, at the train station we hired a porter to transport our luggage and walk us to the hotel. Upon arrival, a man came down and asked our name and where we were...

Dear Miss Cheryl, We try always our best in welcoming our guests at Palazzo Odoni and we are really sorry to read your review, but the man who was not “shouting”, but speaking, was of “Residence Odoni”, a totally different management of some apartments in the same building. Speaking with him, we understand that the porter you have hired was...

This hotel is perfectly situated near the Grand Canal, but a few minutes away from all the major hustle and bustle. The area was quiet at night, so we could have a restful sleep. Breakfast was my favorite in all of the hotels we stayed in while we were in Italy. I still think about the crossiant filled with Nutella!...

We stayed at the Palazzo Odoni after our Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Greek Isles. The Palazzo is within walking distance (with luggage) of the cruise port and has a wonderful shuttle service to the airport. The rooms of this Renaissance palace are air conditioned and quaint. The breakfast alone is worth the price. Everyone was really friendly and accommodating....

We spent 2 nights at Palazzo Odoni after reading great reviews on Trip Advisor. We prebooked a watertaxi from the airport to the hotel and received very useful correspondence and directions from the hotel prior to our arrival. The hotel is under 5 minutes walk from the nearest dock which is also one of the first docks you come to...

My wife and I spent two wonderful nights at the Palazzo Odoni and we very impressed with the room ( had its own mini split a/c), the service and the breakfast. It was the best of three different locations we stayed at on our trip to Rome, Florence and Venice.

We finished off our Italian honeymoon with a three night stay at Palazzo Odoni and were so pleased with our choice. The hotel is a very nice part of Venice, close to the train station but a little off the beaten path. It's about a 40 minute walk or so to the Rialto Bridge or St. Mark's Square. The hotel...

Wow was the first words as I walked into our room. Clean and stunning. This place is in a great location. it is around 20min (without getting lost) to the main tourist hot spots, but why would you when there are so many small amazing eateries and wine bars right near by. We lost our bags at the airport and...

This was our third stay at the Palazzo Odoni in just over ten years. (It would have been more, but it books well in advance!) A family-owned and operated B&B located in a quiet neighborhood, the Palazzo Odoni provides a comfortable base from which to explore Venice and the neighboring islands. While there are 40+ stairs from the entrance to...

Good location near train station but a long (and confusing) walk away from St. Mark,s. 2 long and steep flights of stairs to the lobby but someone came to help with the luggage. We checked in at around 4 pm for 1 night and were told that we must vacate the room by 9 am which was fine. We were...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
