Stayed for 2 nights mid October. Great location- steps from evaporator to take you everywhere . Steps to ghetto and great restaurants . 15 minute easy walk from train station .Satisfying Italian breakfast and friendly patient staff. Highly recommend this hotel

We stayed at this Hotel last week, we had a basic room, as it was the only one available at the time of booking, was small, but spotlessly clean, a little off putting bars at the window but it was street level, otherwise the Hotel was fine, one complaint wifi and TV bad reception,

Located very close to the Grand Canal pier at San Marcuola, this little hotel was a very pleasant place to stay. The room was a decent size, and met all of our needs. We had a first floor, corner room, which did make it a little noisy on a Saturday night when the folks are all out celebrating, but it...

Comfortable and clean. Location is excellent. Right next to the vaporetto. Close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast is modest but good considering the price. Staff were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel is about 50 steps away from the San Marcuola vaparetto station (which itself is the 3rd stop from the main P. Rialle station.) Very simple hotel. Clean, Less than reliable wifi and poor TV channel choices

Management was flexible when I wanted to change my travel dates & were generally very easy to work with. 10-15 min walk from San Marco parking garage. Convenient location, but quiet. Beautiful view of small canal. Large family room with A/C! Very helpful staff. Very clean. Is book again for sure!

We (myself, wife + 2 teenage kids) spent 2 nights at Locanda Ca' San Marcuola. It is just off the main street which leads from Piazzale Roma to Piazza San Marco, and very close to, and between Casino Di Venezia and the Traghetto San Marcuola platform. From the outside the hotel is nothing special, but inside the room we had...

Basics of the hotel are fine. Good location, average breakfast, poor wifi, hard bed. Nothing I wouldn't expect for the price they charge. HOWEVEVER, what infuriated me this morning is that at 6.30am I wanted to leave and found the front door locked. This is the fire escape. On check in the lady told me that the front door was...

Stayed four nights here in conjunction of a trip to Venice. Friendly service, a decent sized room. Furnished in typical Venetian style. Got a decent rate (for Venice). Clean rooms, a good breakfast (served at the table), however the breakfast room is rather small, there are 6 tables in the breakfast room and another 4 tables in the lobby. Our...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
