Do not get me wrong... the hotel is OK, it is just not worth the price we paid for it (overpriced as pretty much everything in Venice... we paid almost $260 CAD for one night stay). The room was nice, although you can see the age (the wallpapers are stained already), but it was clean. We were a bit surprised...

Stayed one night at this hotel. Very convenient location, close to St Mark's square yet still quiet. The main iconic sites are a walking distance. There is a gondola stop right next to the hotel. Lots of eating places around as well as a small supermarket. Spacious room for a city centre hotel with all the modern comforts. Toiletries are...

Fantastic position, just off St Marks square. We were up in the top room so it was little warm, but it was a lovely large room. Nice en-suite bathroom and great shower with lovely towels! We were near to the breakfast room and we thought the choices were OK, certainly enough choices for us. But the staff weren't great at...

One of the best experiences we had so far, hotel is in the middle of everything, beautiful views, so many dining options around, easy access to transportation to both airports, and very friendly and warm staff. We bought a couple of tours from Expedia which were pricy, a ticket to all local historical places is €17/person and is valid for...

We stayed for a long weekend in August. Superior room overlooking a street with restaurants and bars. Nice size room. Quiet hotel. Small bathroom, but that's to be expected in older buildings. Hairdryer is available but not very good a drying hair, it's better for clearing steam off the bathroom mirror. There is no iron in the room and you...

We stayed here overnight post-cruise. Location is great! Lamberto replied timely to my emails days prior to checking in. There are 3 steps before reaching the building's small elevator. Only 2 adults and 1 suitcase will fit in it. Reception is on the 4th floor. Very impressed by the security of the entrance. It provided all the toiletries and amenities...

We recently had the privilege of visiting Venice and staying at the Ca Del Campo. It was the perfect beginning to commence our vacation. Perfect for its convenient location, this property exhibited all the charming characteristics you would find in a small boutique hotel or country villa in Tuscany. Upon arrival we were met by Christina who made herself available...

My partner and I recently stayed at the Ca' del Campo Hotel from the 6th - 9th August 2016 as part of a short break away following our wedding on 4th August. Given all our time has gone into the wedding when we looked to go away for a few days to Venice it's fair to say that we stumbled...

We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay post-cruise at this small hotel. It couldn't be in a better location. As suggested prior to arrival, we used the Alilaguna from the cruise port to San Marco and only had to ask directions once en route - actually we arrived at the shop right next door, but didn't see the small...

A small quaint hotel next to San Marco square. Perfect location if you're in Venice to see everything. We were a honeymoon couple on an Italian road trip starting off here. We got the plane into Venice airport and then a wonderful water taxi trip straight from the hotel to San Marco square. A 5 minute walk (10 minutes with...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
