This hotel was great. Excellent location. Although I only stayed for 4 nights my bedding was changed after 3. Stayed in a single room but it had a bigger than single bed. Shower was powerful and water hot. Ok, so breakfast wasn't marvellous but it...More

This is a very basic place that would be ok as a b&b but is ridiculously over-priced as a 3-star hotel. Tiny rooms; no lift; steep, narrow stairs; meagre breakfast, to be eaten at minute tables in crowded dining-room; horrid sugary concoction instead of fruit...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
