We booked through Thomson and on arrival were taken a rather meandering way to a room which was intended for one person. As we are both tall my husband went back and paid 50€ extra per night for a bigger room. We didn't mind but the hotel should not have booked us into a single ( singola clearly stated behind...

Dear Customer, We are really sorry about your complaint. The first room that we showed to you was a classic room as per contract with your agency. You paid the supplement because you choosed the upgrade for the Suite (we also discounted the supplement paid, usually is € 200,00) Regarding the temperature in the room, unfortunately till April 1st we...

Buffet breakfast was good. Bacon, eggs, sausages, pastries, cereal, fruits, yogurts, etc. Cost ONLY 3 Euro (as it was part of the package). Compare to 60 Euro to get the same breakfast outside at a cafe! Rooms were quaint, styled in the traditional manner, luxurious, exposed beams in the ceiling (from 100's go years ago...not a fake addition to make...

Tucked away from the madness, yet walking distance to The Plazas, shops, and great restaurants. Great hospitality, a real 4 star with a satisfying buffet breakfast and a great staff. Thank you Stephen for your help! Loved room 101. Although it doesn't have a view, it had a high ceilings, robes, bath. and two great windows with venetian style furnishings.

We stayed here on a business trip as we wanted to be close to all the places to visit whilst here on our short stay in Venice. First impressions of the hotel was how nice it was and just as you would imagine a hotel to be in Venice with a bridge across to get to reception etc. The receptionist...

I got a room with a view over the brigde which was nice. The hotel its self is very ancient and nice. But it wasn't anything for me. I like more modern and clean hotels. The breakfast was not good at all (besides the coffee you ordered). I will not come back to this hotel but understand if people like...

Dear Guest, we are sorry for you reviews but we never seemed a modern hotel. We are everywhere published as a traditional venetian style's hotel. Regards

We booked into the Ca' dei Conti but when we got there we were taken round the corner to their sister hotel - the Palazzo Conti Querini. so my review is really more of that. The staff were very polite ant attentive. The room was fairly big and well furnished. The ensuite was built within the bedroom (like a portacabin)....

Very nice hotel only 5 minutes walk from St. Marks Square. Room 207 very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside to our visit was the breakfast which was really quite dull and boring. We would stay again but maybe take breakfast in one of the many cafe/coffee shops nearby.

Hotel is super central. A gondola service pole is in front of hotel entrance. Breakfast buffet is full. Rooms are more than comfort having mini bar and the WiFi is fast. Hotel doesn't have restaurant but this is something that you shouldn't care about it in Venice.

Lovely hotel on a small back canal. Very quiet and beautiful rooms. A few minutes walk to San Marco square in a great location. The breakfast was in a lovely room and very yummy, the kids liked the automatic pancake maker. The staff were helpful as we needed babysitters at short notice. Our air conditioner was a tiny bit noisy...

We booked this hotel for 2 nights before joining a cruise. An opulent lobby. Staff were nice and helpful. I would book a superior room. We had one of each and there is a huge jump in comfort and decor to the superior rooms. I absolutely love Venice. This hotel feels like your very own hideaway. There is a little...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
