What a great location! We arrived at the bus station from the airport and, following the emailed instructions, we strolled for a bit along the Grand Canal, then down a shop and cafe-lined street to find the hotel in a quiet courtyard. It's only a 10 or 15-minute walk but a lot longer if you stop to look in every...

Great location, in the city centre. Rooms average but clean. Breakfast was OK, coffee was from a machine so there can be a bit of a queue waiting for it. The hotel manager called Andrea was very helpful and funny. Had a bit of confusion when paying the bill when leaving but I think we got it sorted.

We booked only 2 nights in this accomodation , as a city break, and we had a pleaseant surprise when arriving at the hotel. Of course as always we read a lot of reviews but you never know it all untill you see it yourself:) We really wanted a private bathroom and we got it as many places in Venice...

Stayed two nights, room was clean and great location to Guglie water stop as well as easy access to many restaurants and shops. Staff was fairly friendly and helpful, no real complaints at all. Two little patio areas within the building that made a nice little quiet area if you needed to do some emails or work.

Very nice hotel, well located in the entrance of Venice and very quiet!! You can easily reach any places to visit in Venice by foot or boat. We had precious informations from Andrea at our arrival (good restaurants, bars, point of interests...) and we really had the feeling to live the real Venice away from the tons of tourists and...

Great location near Venice Bus and Train Stations. Lots of restaurants and Gilatorias in close vicinity. Air conditioning was superb. Free WiFi. However, Andrea the manager imposes too many rules of his own which you may not find at the time of booking. You are not allowed to eat or drink in the room. Towel change is after two days....

People are welcoming and the room was really good! We got a basic Venice guidance right at our arrival what was really helpful, specially about the transportation. The breakfast was good. The location is great, close to a series of restaurants, bars and cafes. Little far from the main attractions but very close to waterbus station. The only issue was...

Not the greatest welcome when the owner had a go at me for not finding the doorbell and attempting to actually open the door. Other than this we had no problems. The hotel if full of character, in excellent location, clean and quiet. We had an excellent sleep and they were very accommodating looking after our luggage until the afternoon....

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. It is very well located, just a short walk from the train station. It was also easy to get water buses in a short walk. The room has a great air con. Breakfast is served on a lovely patio. I would happily stay here again. Of special note this would be...

The short version: a great, relatively inexpensive find close to everything you want with a few minor drawbacks The long version: This is a little gem right in Venice, conveniently located just off the main walk from the train station to the tourist high points deeper in Venice. It is an easy few minutes walk from the Guglie vaporetto stop...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
