Make sure you pick this lovely little hotel for your stay in Venice! I did have some concerns that it wouldn't be easy to find given other reviews but we printed off a map before hand and as you get closer there are signs (look to the top of the buildings though!). The room was superb (with a very comfy...

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights in August. I'll agree with other reviews that it isn't the easiest to find; saying that we followed a map relatively easily and just had to trust to keep walking when we were within 10 metres. The location is fabulous as even though it is hidden, it's a quiet little b...

The room we stayed in was out of this world, stunning, huge, clean, tidy, unbelievable simply amazing. We arrived late (after hours) but our instructions to find the hotel were very clear and we needed a code to get in, easy very easy. Our luggage was lost from Paris to Venice and with our winter clothes in one suitcase and...

Ok, this is not the easiest place to find. There are some small signs that you can follow, but the tiniest winding paths ever. Keep your faith! Keep going and you will be rewarded. The hotel is beautiful! Rooms are fantastic and service excellent!! A place to come back to.

A many of the other reviewers have pointed out, this small seven bedroom establishment is truly tucked away and hard to find the first time, so make sure you've mapped it out on your phone or have great directions. It's an old converted home that has maintained the charm and character of centuries gone by. We stayed in the sweet overlooking...

We stayed at Locanda Ca' Amadi for 2 nights for our trip to Italy at our first year marriage anniversary. The location was excellent, easy reach from the train station, few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge. Very centrally located lovely place to stay which makes you feel like in a movie sceen. The room was very clean and tidy....

This is one of the best little hotels I have ever stayed at. Not far from the grand canal, this hotel is steeped in history and character. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make our short stay in Venice a truly amazing one, From arranging our transfer to and from the hotel to organising a restaurant for...

Visiting Venice for 3 nights, we found Ca' Amadi very nice. It was a little hard to find, some back alleys, but once found - was kind of nice. A very quiet, open courtyard is the entry with stairs up to the lobby/breakfast area.. Only a few rooms in the entire building - so really quiet. The breakfast was nice,...

We stayed here for 1 night in Venice on July 2nd. It is a wonderful hotel that is situated in a really great and central location. The bedrooms are really big and beautifully decorated and our bathroom had recently been re-done so it was very modern and new. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and helpful, and had...

This hotel was an amazing surprise to us! Our room was a stunning suite with canal view and at a very good price! (In my opinion it was not noisy), the room was very spacious, decorated in a Venetian/18th century Versailles style, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff was wonderful!!! They watched our bags since we stayed in Venice after checking...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
