This B&B was great! We had a little trouble with the boat bus and they stayed later to welcome us with no issues. The staff was very informative of the local area, where to go, where good restaurants that are in the area. The breakfast...More
This was my first visit to Venice, a wedding anniversary celebration and the last weekend of the carnival. Staying at Residenza de l'Osmarin made it an absolutely delightful experience. Not only was our room beautifully decorated but it was spotlessly clean and bright and so...More
We stayed four nights at the Residenza de l'Osmarin and it was a delight at every step of the way. From the ease of locating the residence (a mere 200m from the Alilaguna stop after almost 30 hours travel), to the warm greeting from our...More
I stayed here for 2 days while in Venice with my wife on our honeymoon trip through Europe. Venice was overall a highlight of our two week long overall stay. And in part due to the great place where we stayed. Location was excellent and...More
10 STARS! Beautiful. Quaint. Great location. Goregeous views. I woke up every morning and stuck my head out my window. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. The owners are so nice so caring. They were willing to help me get around Venice or give...More

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

We (husband/wife/1 teenager) were on the 2nd floor (one above the breakfast room) and had what seemed like an apartment to ourselves -- two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette/dining/lounge room. We heard a little bit of foot noise from the apartment above one night, but generally it was extremely quiet. Being the middle of winter, there was no street noise whatsoever. Check with the owners about your concerns, but there should be plenty of room for the kids with little impact on other guests. We travelled from the international airport via the alilaguna. It was about a 200m walk to the residenza with our (rather large) wheeled cases and we managed just fine. There is a review on here somewhere with excellent directions, worth looking for. You can't go wrong staying here!
