Nice hotel, on a very good location a few steps away from the Piazza San Marco, friendly staff, clean. Value for money. Maybe 4* is slightly overrated. However, we planned to stay 2 nights and extended to 5 nights. Good breakfast European style.

Don't fall for this place. Booked here thinking 4 star and all. Wow maybe back in 1980. Our first room we had the shower head didn't work properly so we asked if we could move, moved up to the suite, paying the difference. A lot bigger in the room size of course but they haven't done any upgrades to the...

Don't follow GPS if it takes you left when facing San Marco Square from the water bus or water taxi stop. Because it is shorter if you go right and enter the main entrance through ghe columns and proceed past the tower and go half way down the north corridor to the left and turn into PONI DEI DAE/CALLE DEI...

This hotel is a 2 minute walk from St Marks Square - perfect for walking to all the sights. The room is not luxurious by any stretch but it is very clean and comfortable. I'd say it's typical Venetian furniture etc that's looking a bit tired now. The bathroom needs a revamp but again, it's clean. A great hotel location...

I selected based on some website for hotel booking as to be a FOUR STARS hotel; but as per my lengthy Experience it was not at all, even not 3 stars ; in all aspects! very old furniture, dirty sofa's , very poor bath room, not possible to reach by car.

This hotel is in a great location, really easy to get to. However I agree with the other reviews it's definitely not four-star. The room we had was very small and quite old, bed was comfortable but pillows were rock hard. We only had backpacks but if you had a couple of large suitcases you'd be stepping over them to...

Absolutely loved the location, 2 minutes away from the Piazza San Marco. We had a suite and loved it, very clean, the sheets looked brand new, sparkling clean. The breakfast was nice. The lobby looks beautiful however when you get in the back to get to the suits building the staircase and the little entrance there is always full of...

The front desk staff at this hotel are very friendly and are probably the best aspect of this hotel. This was my first visit and I received many great recommendations for sights to see and restaurants to try. The hotel lobby is beautiful and elegant. The daily breakfast is also very good; typical European breakfast with breads and meats and...

Our room was so so small. This hotel is in a great location, we experienced great service from some of the staff. Unfortunately our room was a shoebox with barely enough room for our suitcase. Be aware if you stay on the 5th and 6th floor your room is going to be tiny. We wouldnt have believed this was a...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
