Everything is within walking distance. Didn't need ferry at all. The shared bathroom is clean. It is small as some reviewer said but didn't bother me. The breakfast has a lot of choices. Very Good value for money.

Our twin room was small but had everything we needed and was spotless if not shiny new. Bathroom also small but good shower and very clean too. Breakfast had a good range of items - pastries, meat, boiled eggs, cheese, yoghurts, rolls as well as decent coffee with hot milk. Staff were friendly but let you be and the youngest...

Stayed here twice. Great location. Pizza shop across from hotel serves an incredible slice. Within short walking distance of bus stop and the Rialto. Hotel is old but none the less perfect for the price. Will be back here again.

Very disappointing and didn't see this mentioned in other reviews. As far as two star hotels go the service, breakfast and quality of the room was ok but I was Ina room across the inner courtyard facing the alley where garbage can were noisily clanged past midnight and the kitchen and laundry facilities were one floor below and got busy...

Booked for 3 nights with a friend to visit Venice. A small hotel, but very clean and tidy, All the people we met on reception were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was ok for a 2*, fresh food each day, pastries, meat, rolls, crackers, eggs, cereal, teas, coffee. Could have done with some fresh fruit. Our room was small, with...

Just off an alley corner in Dorsoduro sits the quaint and traditional hotel. Old fashioned dark wood furniture in the bedroom and a tiny bathroom. Our room overlooked the courtyard with a lime tree as centre stage. You have to hand your room key in when you leave. We asked for 2 beers but they didn't have any but were...

Located off S. Toma by ACTV Vaporetto, very easily found - good location. This is a 2 star rated hotel but on a budget, feels like a 4 star hotel. Rooms are decent size and very clean. Standard comfort level beds. The continental breakfast had ham, cheese, yogurt, pastry, cereal, some fruit and hot beverages. It was great on a...

This hotel is right in the heart of the student area but very quiet. The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. The breakfasts were on a self serve basis with plenty of choice of cereal, cold meats and chees, eggs and many different pastries. There is a little garden dining area if weather allows.

Stayed for just one night with my boyfriend, and we booked in January to make sure we got a place in July. Room was basic and small, but had air conditioning and comfy beds. We technically had a shared bathroom but never saw anyone else using it. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and the location was perfect for everything we...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
