Very well located, 5 minutes from Piazza Sao Marcos. Very simple. Breakfast not so good with lots of time waiting for it. I think we can't expect much better from a 3 star hotel in Venice city center. Wifi worked ok. The hotel is very difficult to find in the narrow streets of Venice.

Reception: Simple and basic, tired. Location: Poor location, it's not in a main street, I got lost several times before finding the hotel everytime i returned to the room. Rooms: Basic rooms with some Venetian arrangements, bad noise isolation, you can hear persons talking in their rooms. Breakfast: Very basic. Will i return? Definitely not

It's location is situated in an excellent place, close to all atraction. The room we had was small, but beautiful decorated. Clean and crowded the bathroom was ok. What disapointed me was the bed which was uncomfortable because of a 2 single -person mattresses. To conclude it's warm place to go , also the stuff was friendly.

If I could give this place a 0 rating I would. I booked it for a stay in about 10 days (late March). I booked through booking.com. I received a notice that there was a problem with my credit card, so I resubmitted my information. I then received a note that the information was ok. I naively thought all was...

We had actually booked at one of the other sister hotels, Antico Panada, but due to some issue with my credit card, they transferred us here last minute at a very busy time in Venice. We were vising to ring in the new year in this most romantic city. Do not know whether to be thankful, that they got us...

Excellent directions from a previous review ( Lorre) meant we found the hotel quite easily. Superior room was quite spacious and the jacuzzi bath was most welcome after a long days sightseeing. Decor quite dated but staff were pleasant and breakfast was adequate. Hotel is situated in the heart of the tourist area with a few good restaurants close by.

Wonderful 4 nights at the hotel! It is in the perfect location, less than 10 minute walk to both St Marks Square and the Rialoto Bridge. All amenities thought of, hotel room was a little small but we were only there to change and sleep! Jacuzzi bath a huge plus and free wifi in the room was very good. Only...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
