I chose this hotel because of its location near the train station. Easy to get to and the reception was welcoming. We spent 5 days there and had a wonderful and relaxing stay. All staff were exceptionally friendly. I would stay there again.

The hotel itself is very good -- the breakfast is amazing, the salon upstairs is very relaxing and beautiful. Service is impeccable, staff extremely helpful. Of note, do NOT stay in the 'regular, deluxe' room as they are located on the second (American) floor right on the street and extremely busy. The incessant sound of roller suitcases morning, day, and...

My husband and I were very pleased with our recent stay at the Arcadia Boutique Hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. The breakfast was quite extensive and very well done. Although this is located not in the "main" area of Venice, we so enjoyed this location. It was very easy to access from the water transport from the...

We stayed here for the second leg of our honeymoon and it was fabulous. Great location, close enough to the action but not right in the heart of touristy Venice. The staff were excellent - helpful and attentive, but not too overbearing. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of bubbly on our first night! Being a 'boutique hotel' the...

Made a rather last minute reservation during the end-of-year peak holiday season and was thankful to get a room at such short notice. Room is rather small but makes economical use of space and is very comfortable. It is clean and well-appointed; small touches like robes, slippers, luxury toiletries and complimentary prosecco were nice, unexpected touches that we really appreciated....

The hotel is very clean, organized and central. You can find the waterbus just around the corner, plus there´s a lot of life around, like restaurants, bars etc. The breakfast was very good as well. Thank you Arcadia.

We chose the Hotel Arcadia because we like Cannaregio which is less touristic than much of Venice. The hotel is convenient by foot to the Santa Lucia Station. Our room was spacious having received a complimentary upgrade. The staff is gracious and helped us up the stairs at the entrance. Our room was quiet and well maintained. Our only issue...

Dear Mr Jeffrey, many thanks for your review. At the same time, I have to admit that is quite frustrating to receive such a remark and to notice that our “half concession” on the check out time has influenced so much your review. For us it is great pleasure in exceeding, not only meeting, all our customer requests and this...

We always do our homework when booking hotels, and it paid off again this time. All our friends who have visited Venice had said they found their hotel difficult to find. Not this one. Arriving in freezing fog and at night we hopped on the water taxi from the airport straight to the Guglie stop, turned right, turned left at...

Spent 3 nights at this property over Thanksgiving week. Location is prefect. At most a 10 minute walk from the train station (turn left upon exiting the station) and a few more minutes walk to the Piazzale Roma where you can grab a taxi to the airport for 40 Euro (about 20 minute ride). About a 20 minute walk to...

The hotel is located close to the train station which makes it easy to get to when you arrive by train. The hotel is perfect, room is good, breakfast is great and it is a little bit away from the crowds. Venice is not big so you can easily walk to all the sites in like 20 minutes. Would for...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Arcadia, a splendid, charming residence in the centre of Venice, is delighted to offer you a fine stay in the magical city suspended over the waters of the lagoon. The sophisticated elegance of this small but refined boutique hotel can be seen in its captivating and romantic furnishings, a blend of period and modern, with hints of contemporary color and an atmosphere born of a glorious past. The setting is a splendid 17th century palace that harks back to the magnificent and aristocratic age of bygone Venice, but the atmosphere is one of a welcoming hotel de charme with elegant, refined taste. The result is Hotel Arcadia, a perfect blend of East and West, contemporary color and period details. ... more   less
