I was very pleased by the location of this hotel, as it is only minutes away from Saint Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace which helped save a lot of time. The staff was decently friendly, although not all the receptionists spoke English, or at least adequate English. My room was clean and well decorated, however I was quite displeased...

Dear Customer, Thank you for your stay here at our hotel. Next time we advise you to look good when you book and select the room with the private bathroom. You had just booked a room with shared bathroom: it was all clearly written on the portal when you booked. Best regards

A nice hotel, a little old-fasioned, good breakfast but a litle boring. Very good walking distance to central sights, close to the main routes but not a crowd just outside the door. Verry firendløy and helping staff.

We visited mid Nov and on our way out of Venice noticed our beats headphones (worth about £160) weren't in our suitcase, so rang hotel and 'nothing was found.' Take from that what you will, but the policy of leaving your key at reception whilst you are out isn't great! We arrived with them and left without unfortunately. Room was...

Not that easy to find your way there from the Water Taxi after arriving at San Marco airport. Use the directions from the Centauro Hotel website - and not the badly printed map that the water taxi people give you! I had a few problems finding the Hotel with the directions I followed from the Water Taxi company - and...

This is the worst experience and a bad impression of Venice on my first visit. The rooms are very small and dirties, a lot of dust in the room, broken floors, creepy decoration with textil cover, old an bad state furniture, bad smell, etc. The worst think was a huge mouse (Ratatuilly) walking in my bed so we had to...

This hotel is very charming and centrally located for Venice. The rooms are small compared to North American standards and true bathrooms are even smaller. Nevertheless you can take advantage of the great city from this prime location.

Dear customer, thank you for your stay. Venice is a unique city in its kind and very small, hence everything is reduced compared to any other city in the world. On all our bookings sites are clearly specified all dimensions of the rooms. Best regards

As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for," and this hotel gives great value for the price. The room was small but comfortable, with all of the necessities. It was clean, the air conditioner worked great, and housekeeping did a great job. The staff are friendly, efficient, and super-helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. The location...

Best part of the hotel is the good location close to St Mark's Square. We stayed two nights and everything is basic and very boutique feel about everything. One thing to remember is there is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up! The rooms are simple but abit small for couples but if you are going solo,...

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is situated in the central part of Venice and walking distance from everything. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
