Conveniently located in the city center, just 10 minutes walking from the train station. The staff was friendly: we thought we had reserved a double with shared bathroom but ended up having private bathroom. Room and bathroom were very clean. The downsize was the absence of air-conditioning and the presence of several mosquitos! I would choose this hotel again but...

1. Rude staff. No eye contact. No smile. Especially the guy on reception is very rude. 2. No WiFi. There is a very slow connection on the first floor. You'd want to have wifi in the room so that you can research places to go, placed to eat etc. but can't. Big factor. 3. City of Venice is beautiful at...

We had booked a double sharing private room with shared bathroom. The room was very spacious considering it is a budget accommodation. Pretty clean. 2 bathrooms were shared between 2-3 rooms, but were very clean. Lock of one of the bathrooms was not working well. No lift, so had to climb two floors with a 23 kg bag. Can not...

The hotel is located in the very centre, close to the Ca´Foscari and San Toma Vaporetto stop. It is perfectly located for any ventures into the heart of La Serenissima. Nevertheless, it is a quiet location. Facilities are basic, but comfortable, clean, and the staff is very friendly! I would choose this hotel again any time I would return to...

I really enjoyed my stay there. The couple are friendly, down to earth. Room was clean, and the bed was good enough for me. I was really looking forward to their breakfast; they have a nice breakfast room, but not much in it. They charged 5 Euros for one toast and their coffee was from a machine.

Centrally located, nice and cozy hotel. Friendly staff and very helpful! Highly recomended hotel in the center of Venice. The rooms were bright and fresh, a bit cramped stairs but all in all one of the better Hotels beautiful Venice.

Basic, very clean, at a reasonable price. Located close to St. Toma station and only 10 minutes of pleasant walk along canals from the central bus station. Simple breakfast with a very good coffee. I recommend this hotel if you are travelling with your family and on the budget.

This hotel is situated on a beautiful quiet street, within easy walking distance to the main attractions. This was one of the cheapest hotels we could find and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The rooms are basic and we had a shared bathroom but everywhere was clean and functional. Staff were very friendly and I got the impression it...

Locanda Ca' Foscari is a small hotel/hostel, which has quite basic rooms and facilities. I had booked a single with ensuite, but upgraded to a double (Rm 9) which was still small, but was a corner room with two windows and a nice view. The owner was very helpful and friendly, including coming to find me when I got a...

We booked a room with its own bathroom. It was clean but very basic. It was situated in St. Toma which is a lovely part of the city to explore and has great restaurants and eateries. The bathroom was small but clean. Our host was polite and helpful.

Thank Terilem

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
