The lobby and the restaurant look ok, but conservatively designed. The quality of the food is mediocre , certainly compared to the price . The rooms are dreadfull and run down, in the somber 1960 style . Avoid !!!

Very nice small hotel right on the water. Easy walk to everywhere! Not a large amount of pedestrian traffic in front of the hotel so it was quiet at night. No coffee machine in the room however. You had to go downstairs to get it...More

La Calcina was recommended. We rent 2 rooms. I know the new owners are working tirelessly to upgrade this conveniently located lovely little boutique hotel. The breakfast was wonderful, eating outside looking at the water, what better way to start off your day. The staff...More

You can indeed walk quite easily via the Accademia bridge, with a total walking time of 15-20 minutes, assuming you don't allow yourself to get distracted on the way! Vaporetto's are also fairly frequent.
