Stayed here for 4 nights last week and really enjoyed it. The location is perfect and just a short walk away from St Marks Square. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would happily stay here again.

The hotel is located on the Dorsoduro island and is in a calmer area which is a great plus in Venice. You're very close to some major sights like the Peggy Guggenheim collection. The San Marco Square is within reasonable walking distance. The hotel is in good condition but. The breakfast is complete but basic. The staff is very helpful....

We stayed in a quadruple room for 1 night and it was perfect for our family of 4. Breakfast was nice but nothing fancy. Location was convenient to restaurants and transportation to various spots. We especially appreciated the recommendations and help from the front desk. It is a beautiful hotel!

Great, Beautiful and Comfortable! A good balance between price, quality, great location & good service. Breakfast is good. Rooms are quite big for European standards and very quiet. No elevator, but there are only 2 floors, with a very nice lobby between them. Furniture is classy and very nice. Staff was very helpful and kind. Thank you for a great...

This hotel is in a great location and could be really good if anyone took the initiative to fulfil its potential. It is presently in need of a complete revamp as it is extremely dated and coming apart at the seems. The hotel has more of a youth hostel feel (and smell) to it and bedding was damp. The bedroom was...

I have been to Venice over a dozen times and this is far and away the worst hotel I have stayed in. It seems more like a youth hostel (smells like one too) masquerading as a three star hotel. This wasn't a cheap hotel but achieved its cheap image quite successfully. Pros: Good location Cons: Awful breakfast, poor and not...

Nice friendly Hotel, room was clean and tidy, fresh bedding and towels every day. Breakfast was good, pastries, croissants, meat and cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fruit juices. Air conditioning was brilliant. Step out next to the canal, short walk to the square for food, drinks and supermarket. Orange bar in the square, excellent for snacks and cocktails. Plenty of...

Nice hotel in a good area. Right next to a little square with a few places to eat and shop. Beyond that, more restaurants and shopping are just a few minutes away. Centrally located so you can easily walk anywhere, such as Piazza San Marco, in a short time. The hotel itself is nice. Nicely decorated, and everything functioned well....

The staff at the hotel were extremely welcoming and warm. Very willing to help. They heated up milk whenever we wanted, gave us excellent direction to our destinations. On the last day we were leaving very early and the staff had prepared a breakfast bag for us to take! Very kind and thoughtful of them! The hotel itself was clean...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This palace was a rich and magnificent residence of an aristocratic Venetian family, now it is an elegant and refined 3 stars Hotel, completely restored. The Hotel enjoys of an interesting position, preferred by the intellectuals and artists, searching for quiet and inspiration. Inside the Hotel, at the entrance, there is a stoned staircase that goes from the lobby to the second floor, once called "piano nobile", where there are some rooms. The intelligent restoration has effected a correct and balanced compromise between aesthetical demands and the non-renounced functional requirements, essential an hotel that wants to keep step with the times. The rooms, in typical Venetian style, are furnished with elegance and good taste, with all comforts (private bathroom with bathtub, hairdryer, cable TV, direct dial telephone, mini-bar, air-conditioned, coffee and thea machine). Our clients can also enjoy of a lightly and roomy sitting-room on the second floor, a bar on the ground floor with a free internet point, and a nice and big veranda overlooking the garden, where the buffet breakfast is served in the morning. ... more   less
