This hotel has a beautiful energy. The staff and owners are lovely and welcoming, always willing to help you navigate the beautiful historical city of Venice. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but maintain the historical feel of the city. It's location is perfect in the heart of the city, but on a quiet peaceful side street. I truly enjoyed...

This is a great family run hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are great. A good base for exploring Venice. Unfortunately we had teenage girls staying next door who kept us up until 5am screaming and playing music. As the owners aren't in the building at night there was nothing we could really do about it...

The hotel's location is very nice: close to main squares and bridges, but in a quite and peaceful place. Personnel was very friendly, advised on the best way to get to the location from the local train station, helped with the luggage, allowed to store it on the day of check-out till the evening. I was provided a bigger room...

We had a double room with private bath in this hotel, located on a quiet street in San Marco. The room and bath were not large but suited our needs perfectly. Easy walking distance to Rialto area, Accademia and Saint Marks Square. Both Titiana and Judith were very helpful in planning our days and making the most of our stay....

We knew that we would be happy at San Samuele before we even got there. Within hours of making a booking we received an email asking us where and when we would be landing so that they could give us the best advice for getting to the hotel. When we arrived on a very hot day, Tatiana immediately poured us...

We had a faultless break here in August. The location is perfect for exploring the city without being in the huddle and bustle of it all. Good sized rooms and lovely bathroom. Staff were efficient and helpful. Even with building works taking place our stay was undisturbed - thank you!

The Hotel San Samuele is wonderfully situated near several water bus stops on the Grand Canal. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
