San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

This is a very small hotel. It is tucked away up some fairly narrow streets and easily missed. We walked from the water bus service at St Mark's Square with our cases. This is possible but would not recommend it if you have very heavy luggage.
The hotel provides breakfast which

Very uncomfortable bed - We had let the hotel know this was our honeymoon so we were hoping for a nice room but we got a tiny room on the first night which was like a cupboard. We complained so they moved us to a slightly better room which at least had a window. It had two single

Venice is so beautiful and nice and has ts own Charme.
We directly felt like in the Middle Ages.
But we didn’t expect the same for our stay in this hotel.
I need to say that the 2 stars I gave is for the friendly and helpful staff and the location. Also the very small rooms and n

Hello, if we arrive at 23.00 will we be able to have a room or we gonna need to wait?
There is someone working at the front desk 24/7 so no issue if you have a late arrival.

How far is this hotel from the airport (VCE)?
VCE - Marco Polo by coach to the terminus at Piazzale Roma is about half-an-hour. Then by water bus (No 1) to "Rialto B" stop is about 10 minutes. From Rialto B, walk on the Riva del Carbon (50 metres) to the Calle Bembo opposite "Rialto A" water bus stop*. Calle Bembo becomes the Calle dei Fabri, and to the Alcyone is about 150 metres. Allow an hour from leaving the airport. * Rialto B is the stop coming FROM Piazzale Roma. Rialto A is to go TO Piazzale Roma.
