This hotel was well located-5 mins from Alilaguna stop and across from 5.1 and 5.2 waterbus stop. We first stayed in the new part which had nice rooms but a terrible smell in the building (not in the room) and it wasn't the canal. The room and bathroom were nice and spacious. We also stayed in the old part which...

Good points: good air-con and (water) bus stop right outside front door. Not so good points: Staff were rude, disinterested and unhelpful; Room was tiny but I guess this can be expected in Venice (they squeezed 3 of us in a tiny room so it was wall-to-wall beds!); The only hotel in our 3 week European holiday that didn't offer...

Good location....not far from the main tourist spots. Hotel more like a good b&b we had a canal view room and was fine for 2 nights, clean and spacious. Breakfast wasn't too good but there is so many nice places to eat it wasn't an issue. Water bus stops outside the hotel which is easy to use. I would stay...

Beautiful hotel, rooms clean, specious and decor to suite Venice. Staff happy to help when required nothing to much trouble. Walking distance 25 minutes to Piazza San Marco although good map reading is important. Easy water bus from airport, highly recommend.

This hotel was about a 45 min walk from the main city center. There was a water bus stop right out front which was good. The staff there was very hands-off--did not greet you and seemed very bothered if you asked them a question or needed help. In the older part where we stayed, there was no elevator so we...

Having stayed in Lido in March 2016, i decided to stay in the city this time. The location was quiet part of Venice and yet there is a stop right in front of the hotel. Facilities and the quality of finish to the decor was a surprise (for a 3 stars), the room was not that airy, but AC works....

We started our 10 day Italian vacation in Italy with 2 nights in Venice. Wish we would have stayed longer in Venice! The pros of the Tre Archi is it a very short walk from the Guglie water taxi stop, and about 15 minutes to the train station. The room was clean, it had a refrigerator and after a couple...

Lovely hotel, with enchanting reception area (as per pic) We stayed in the new part of the hotel, which was initially disappointing as we were looking forward to staying in the original building and having a view of the garden or canal. Our room did have a glimpse of the canal (just) and was large and clean. Fab bathroom with...

when we arrived by water taxi, boat stops right there in front of Tre Archi. There is nobody that helps you with luggage and the guy at the reception was`nt overfriendly. Language is a problem if you don`t speak Italian. We had to store our luggage in a neat shed at the back of the hotel and waited an hour...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
