We needed to stay over in Venice a couple of extra days(sick mother) so we were moved from their other location. Staff was extremely helpful with a sick traveler. Found a 24 hr. Pharmacy for us and could not have been nicer. Andrea, what a great guy. He was so helpful and showed genuine concern for our mother. Thanks Andrea!!...

Recently spent a weekend in this hotel while staying in Venice. Great location, within easy reach of all the main sights. Room comfortable, breakfast lots of options, staff really friendly and helpful. Arranged a private water taxi to Morano for free really interesting, expected a big sales pitch but did not come really interesting morning out. Would certainly recommend. 1st...

I recently spent 10 days in Venice and had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Andrea (Concierge) is an wonderful person and very helpful. He know his stuff and knows Venice very well. The breakfast was very good and plentiful and the staff very attentive. The rooms were clean and spacious and were tended daily (twice a day). The location...

Old building, the room we stayed in was OK except for a noisy mini-bar cooler quite disturbing at night, and very little storage capacity. The bathroom was large, fully equipped and clean. No view. Service is excellent with very friendly and helpfull staff. Breakfast was awesome and the best feature of this hotel: the "La Caravella Restaurant". Just delicious food,...

Stayed 4 nights in this historic hotel with attentive friendly staff. Comfy room with good bathroom and fantastic buffet breakfast - best scrabbled eggs in a hotel! Perfectly situated just 5 minutes from San Marco piazza in a high end shopping area. We ate in the restaurant only once - a risotto and a pasta dish - late at night...

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights at the start of March and when greeted upon arrival the staff at reception arranged for our room to be ready early, we had a coffee in the hotel bar and within 10 minutes our room was ready for! The hotel rooms are lovely and very spacious with great decor, especially...

Having stayed at this hotel on a previous occasion our 3 night stay this week was no disappointment. The hotel has great ambience, the busy restaurant and bar are managed with super efficiency and the dinner menu whilst limited provides dishes of excellent standard. Breakfast provision is also more than ample and again of a high standard. All staff are...

I stayed at this wonderful and historic hotel in March 2017. The location to San Marco square is perfect. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Daily breakfast was excellent. The staff was very helpful when we had. 3:30am wake up for a flight. They even made breakfast to go! We'll be back!

We had a fantastic stay in Hotel Saturina. I could not recommend it highly enough. From the lovely concierge to the friendly and professional waiting staff, we had an amazing time. It was a special occasion visit for us to Venice, and I hope we get the opportunity to return and stay here again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
