Really liked my stay here. Friendly helpful staff and a great location near San Marco Square. The room was a good size and although facing the street, did not have any noise problems. The bar had a good atmosphere with a good selection of drinks. bar staff excellent and were always smiling. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of...

A very professionally run and spotlessly clean hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel was perfectly situated for our needs. the reception/concierge staff were not only helpful but also added extra helpful background or tips which were really useful. would highly recommend this hotel. the only suggestion I would make is try to not have a room next to...

We stayed for 4 nights (me and my mum). The location was excellent within walking distance of the main sights in Venice. Particularly enjoyed being able to wander into St Marks Square in the evening when it was much quieter. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and booked our water taxi back to the airport - expensive but...

We had a great Venice weekend staying at the Saturnia. It was my wife's first trip to Venice and she had a great time aided by perfect tourist weather, bright sunshine but not to hot. We booked the standard room which was large and very comfortable and quiet. Only issue was the over bath shower could have been better and...

Stayed four nights at the Saturnia and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you want five star luxury in a sterile atmosphere lacking in character, then this is not for you. However if you want a hotel brimming with charm, ambience, quirkiness which is comfortable and in a great location, then the Saturnia is a must. All of the staff without exception...

This hotel is in a fantastic location close St Marks square and centrally located making it an excellent base. The hotel has so much history and atmosphere but also very clean and is up to date with wifi and all the expected amenities. Our room 206 was really excellent and the maid service refreshed linen, sheets and all each day...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

“We paid extra for a deluxe double but had to change on arrival as our first room 45 was small but had a jacuzzi bath which we do not like. I am not sure that this room was worth the additional payment however the room we changed too Room 206 absolutely was a deluxe room in size and an excellent bathroom with seperate shower, double sinks, all in grey marble . The windows overlooking the canal with the passing gondolers added a welcome feature. The receptionist and concierge changed our room without fuss and our overall stay and service we received was excellent. I recommend this hotel.”
