Perfectly situated, near to San Marco, Rialto, Accademia, the theatre La Fenice and more... I loved the style ( really Venetian!) and all the staff, professional and welcoming! The rooms are clean and bright. I recommend!!

Booked a single room for a one night stay. Room was small but what I needed/expected. Bathroom was large and clean. Bed was comfortable. Room faced back of the hotel so no view, but I could hear the cooks singing from the kitchen. Didn't eat at the restaurant but had a drink in the bar which had outdoor seating with...

In spite of being tucked away down narrow alleys(of Venice has a lot) surprisingly easy to find. Staff very friendly and helpful even escorting us to the pick up point for the water taxi on the way home - never find it otherwise. Reasonable breakfast marred only by the worst coffee I have ever drunk. However the hotel bar has...

The location of this historic 3 stars superior is excellent, just next to Teatro La Fenice. The decoration is pleasantly kitschy, conveying authenticity and coziness, the staff is helpful, professional and welcoming. In a hotel which is certainly not budget-friendly, however, why would they serve such a depressing, stingy, uninspiring breakfast? It is obviously something that the management does not...

We did stay in the apartments opposite the hotel. The apartments belongs to the hotel. We truly enjoy the place as it's in the heart of the Venice, walking distance everywhere. Apartments are spacious and every room has had ensuite. Spacious and have living room with kitchen. The only one small minus is that kitchen has very small amount of...

Peaceful, efficient and in a brilliant location away from it all yet only minutes from it all. Reception are very helpful and Andrea the barman stood out service-wise. The restaurant just round the corner is a must both for a drink in the huge armchairs outside when you're feet are about to fall off and later for fabulous food and...

The hotel was perfect for a few days in Venice. Well situated about 5mins from San Marco. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and WiFi included in our stay. Rooms were spotless. We were able to leave our cases as we had a late flight home at no cost. Would totally recommend.

We stayed overnight at this hotel, and it was lovely. It was quiet, and our room overlooked a canal. The room was decorated very much in the Venetian style with rich scarlet fabric wall paper and beautiful wood appointments. It may not be soothing for some, but I love that kind of character and charm. The staff was incredibly friendly...

Don't stay at this hotel if you are travelling solo. Had friends who had decent rooms. I was on top floor. All five doors in the landing has a door size print of Klimt's the kiss. My room had a small single bed and the walls here painted deep red. They had used a sponge to paint with so the...

Dear Guest, we are very sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay here with us, not as much as to leave a comment called " nightmare time". You have been in a single room which is of course smaller than double rooms your friends had ( as they were 2 people ), but the style of our furniture is...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
