San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

A fantastic weekend to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The Gritti Palace was a recommendation from a good friend of ours, and he couldn’t have made a better one. A misunderstanding with our transfer into Venice from the airport was swiftly and seamlessly solved by one of the

A beautiful property in a fantastic location. We were concerned to be overwhelmed by the mass of tourists traveling in early July, but were pleasantly surprised to walk out of our hotel room to little or no crowds. The outdoor cafe has an amazing view and the room decor was

Yes, any water taxi can stop at the hotel's own dock. I don't know why so many other answers are referring to "private" water taxi. Maybe they mean all water taxis are private. Anyway, yes, a water taxi can drop you directly at the hotel dock.

Definitely private water taxi if just for the experience. Also, if you have the hotel book it they will add it to your bill so that you can obtain points if paying with Marriott credit card.

Thank you for your request. We are pleased to confirm that our The Gritti Terrace, Club del Doge Restaurant and Longhi Bar are open to non-resident Guests. Reservations at The Gritti Terrace and Club del Doge Restaurant are recommended. The link on our website is currently working, it might well be there wasn’t any availability on the selected date. You do not need to stay there to have lunch or dinner. I would suggest to book in advance as it is a hot spot! Look on the internet for the hotel restaurant and outside bar area.
