We stayed in the Palazzetto Pisani for three nights. The room was clean confortable and had an absolutely unmatched view of the Grand Canal. The hotel was a five minute walk from the vaporetto stop at the Accademia Bridge (you have to cross over the bridge from the vaporetto stop). The only reason that I didn't give it five stars...

Dear Mr Charles M, thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay here, the view on the Grand Canal from your room, the position and the cleanliness. The bell boys at the Pisani wear slightly ill-fitting uniforms but they are, really, wearing bell boy uniforms. The antique doors may be a little bit cracked but they really are hundreds of years old, the cushions may be a little dusty but they are in a lounge with the most beautiful view of the Grand Canal and yes, it...

Booked this hotel last minute and couldn't have been happier. Rooms were just as the pictures showed them and the staff are really welcoming and helpful. It took us a while to find but in a great spot in the grand canal. We can't wait to go back. Caio baby!

We loved our shortstay at charming Palazetto Pisani, but I have to admit were disappointed about the quality of the restaurant (specially the meat!) Location is great, phantastic balcony on the grand canal- have the welcome drink there! We will definately come back but have dinner elsewhere

We stayed in January 2015 in a family suite with our two children. This is a beautiful hotel. You are unaware that anyone exists. Exquisitely appointed and very comfortable. We also had breakfast every morning and the selection was excellent, coffee beautiful. Highly recommend, such wonderful memories here. Great location.

We have stayed here on two occasions and would recommend the rooms in the main hotel, without hesitation. The charm lies in the fact that this building is steeped in history and with that, one enters an understanding that this is an engagement with historic Venice.

We were recently married in Venice and booked rooms at the Pisani for ourselves and our wedding party. We also held the reception in the public area of the hotel as well. From our initial booking and throughout our stay at the hotel the staff was exceedingly hospitable. They took care of our every need and went out of their...

What a great find. This is a lovely hotel. Small, based in a very beautiful, very old palazzo with some really stunning rooms. Views across the Grand Canal to Dorsoduro. Close to all main sites and some excellent restaurants and with very helpful staff. Terrific breakfast. Lounge on second floor (in European terms) has two balconies you can perch on...

Positives - free wifi, great location. Negatives - no lifts and lots of steep stairs, barely any hot water, drippy shower, uneven flooring in rooms, dusty, shabby, drab, noisy, rock hard bed The family members I travelled with wanted to stay in a typical Venetian style hotel (boutique). I read a lot of reviews about hotels in Venice and the...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
