We greatly enjoyed our stay here! The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The room and bathroom were clean. Be aware not all rooms come with a bathroom attached. Ours was just a few doors away down the hall which was never an issue, just unusual for an American. Our room had a view of the canal which was absolutely wonderful...

Small friendly hotel, enough choice within the buffet breakfast, lovely little terrace at top of hotel. Great location slightly away from the main area, but very easily accessible, right near the water taxi stop.

My husband and I just spent three nights here for our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised, firstly at our upgrade because of our special occasion! Our room was very nice, we had a view of the canal and the air conditioning works great! You do have to pay for the wi-fi however this is only 6€ and it works well!...

Dear Madame. we thank you for the nice comment left, we know that some of our bathrooms are not big that's because the building is old and we cannot make all the changes we would like to do !!! I just want to point that what you say being an urinal it is a bidet which has a complete different...

The Hotel Hesperian is located centrally but far away enough to eat locally without costing a fortune. Staff are very helpful, breakfast had a great variety, rooms were comfortable and had air conditioning, a roof terrace is available to use which we did. The nearest public transport stop is literally outside which you can go to/from the airport, lido and...

Small room with comfortable bed and neat bathrooms. What we liked was its location - away from the crowds but very near Santa Lucia station , with quick access to the ferry stations and good eating joints .We forgot our camera , contacted the hotel who were gracious enough to hold it in their custody till we could get back...

Loved the hotel. The location is great... Just a five minutes walk from the central train station. Facing the canal so you can wake up and enjoy the view already. The staff were very friendly. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was superb too... Lots and lots of options. Would def stay there again and recommend to...

Great location just off the main pedestrian walkway from the train station running parallel to the grand canal. Clean, quiet and welcoming. WiFi is a small cost per stay and the bathrooms are shared unless you purchase the private options.

Arrived late morning to this hotel and the front desk staff were very nice. They could not accommodate us right away as we arrived before check in. Then they told us that we could have the apartment/suite they have if that would be ok. We said sure, that would be fine as we had a long train ride and just...

Dear Madame, you stayed 3 nights in the apartment and never mentioned to us you dissapoint, if it was so bad you could have asked for a change to a room inside the hotel but it would have been smaller, not on the ground floor as the apartment whcich you also chose not to climb the stairs ... the problem...

Stayed two nights at this hotel. It's proximity to the train station and canal was excellent. No elevator, so be prepared to carry luggage up stairs. Our room was tiny (bed, sink, desk, closet). Bathroom (private) was down the hall. Bed and pillows not the greatest. Shutters did not lock in open position and woke us in the night banging...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
