Double room with canal views decorated in Venetian style with a modern touch was very pleasant. Very generous breakfast with superior service. Great location near Accademia Bridge, Accademia Galleria, Peggy Guggenheim museum and lots of cozy bars, enotecas, trattorias, and cute shops. Private boat dock convenient for water taxi - the only way to go to airport especially if you...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 9 February 2017

When we arrived it was about 7pm and dark. The hotel the prettiest we had passed from the outside and was warm and spotless inside. It was easy to find and as we found out later in a superb position to explore Venice. Reception was friendly and booking in was simple and quick. Our room was warm and typically Venitian....

Very small but very nice hotel over looking a quiet canal. The rooms are beautiful and beds are comfortable. The staff was amazing at helping us out, even when we had an emergency. Everything was taken care of for us. They even helped get us watertaxis and calling them to get a taxi back to the hotel. Easy to get...

Venice offers many alternatives for everybody taste but this hotel is something special as it is next to any major point of the town, easy to reach by "vaporetto" and plenty to see. The hotel is right on one of the inner canals and very quite. Clean and comfortable. We had some problem with the internet connection. Everything else quite...

Lovely hotel with professional, welcoming staff. I attempted to speak broken Italian on arrival but luckily they spoke fluent English & were very helpful with restaurant recommendations & tips about Venice. The room was a good size with room for 2 large bags which the porter delivered! Spotlessly clean & modern with Venetian charm, good linen. The bed was comfortable,...

The hotel overlooks a small canal just off the Grand Canal and close to the Accademia bridge. It is a five minute walk from both the Accademia vaporetta stop and Zattere ferry stop. I was staying in the dependance literally next door to the hotel. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. It did not have a canal view but...

We stayed here for a first time trip to Venice for 3 nights. If we ever go back we will stay here again, although expensive, in Venice, for what you get it's very reasonable! Spotlessly clean, contemporary design, all the facilities you need and a lovely breakfast. Location wise it's perfect, close to the grand canal, a few minutes walk...

A well appointed hotel close to the centre of Venice and yet away from the hustle and bustle. Close to the Guggenheim and the Ponte dell Accademia in the area of Dorsodura. Access from the airport using a water taxi is expensive but a brilliant option as you travel direct from the dock at the airport to the front of...

This excellent intimate hotel has a wonderful combination of position and environment for our stay of four nights in February. We had a very comfortable room with canal view onto the small but active San Rio. Room had all facilities and well fitted bathroom with small bath. Very clean and room servicing faultless. Breakfast(no evening meals) was extensive and included...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
