I think this is one of the most elegant hotel in Venice. The location can't be beat, right off St. Mark's Square. The rooms is very elegant clean and comfortable. Its not cheap but I think its good value for the money. Check out the dining room....

Dear Guest, More and more visitors come in the morning for breakfast at Tiepolo’s . Thank you for mentioning to visit our Marco Polo Ball room while in Venice, a jump back in the second half 18th century where we do serve daily breakfast. Frescoed ceiling from the Tiepolo’s pupils, original stucco on the walls, Murano chandeliers and two oil...

One of the best hotels I've ever had the privilege to stay. My wife and I had a room overlooking the canal so we could watch the gondolier prepare for the day. The breakfast restaurant used to be an art studio in the 16th century and you are surrounded by beautiful work by the artists. There has been a hotel...

We have stayed at Luna Hotel Baglioni twice. Both times, we loved the location and the luxury of the hotel, but had our only two bad experiences in Italy, both related to the hotel's desire to money grab for poor amenities. Our first trip we were offered a "complimentary" boat ride to Burano and Murano. We were ushered into a...

Dear Guest, We are very sorry to read your review and wish to apologize with you for what you describe. Arrival at the hotel was very convenient with the water taxi. Reception was wonderful and friendly. We were upgrade to a suite and loved our room. It has a separate lounge are and a big bathroom. Furniture in the lounge is very typical Venice, old but still very comfortable. Our bedroom was beautiful. Breakfast was great - many options and...

We had planned a day trip to Venice to explore and meet some friends and ended up staying another day. Obviously since we hadn't planned to stay over we had no overnight bags. Checked in to this hotel and the staff made sure we had toiletry kits to get us through the evening. Next evening we did some clothes shopping...

Excellent location, with a private boat dock and a short walk to the St. Mark's square. Less crowds to contend with. We booked 4 adjoining rooms and 1 suite which was small. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean. Breakfast buffet had good choices and the breakfast room was magnificent. A pleasant stay for all 16 in our party.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
