Our stay was only two nights while we tried to extend it an extra night but there was no vacancy. So, they moved us to another hotel nearby. There is no wifi in the rooms. If you need to access data, you must go into the lobby and then it's still difficult. Our room was directly above the front entrance....

Very convenient hotel within walking distance from the train station and just off the grand canal. The hotel has just been renovated and it shows! Beautiful little place with super friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good! I would definitely recommend this as it is close to so much and really nice.

The hotel is just off the Grand Canal and less than five minutes walk from both Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station, the two main entry points to the city - so perfect if you don't want to carry your luggage too far or arrive/depart at an awkward time. But despite the location near the busy transport hubs, you...

Overall the room was very adequate - nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. I had made one reservation for 3 nights in a standard room and then needed to add 1 more night and all that was left was a Superior room. The staff put me in the Superior room the whole stay at no extra charge to save the...

On arrival the hotel was just a few minutes walk from the Bus (and Train) station. We were greeted by very pleasant staff who were more than helpful. We stayed in room 107 at the back of the hotel. The room was very clean and quite. Just a short walk to the water bus if needed but the best way...

My husband and I have just spent 4 nights at this excellent hotel so here is my review. Location - Excellent location less than 5 minutes from the bus terminus in Piazzale Roma just over two bridges. Virtually opposite the railway station again over one bridge. Check in - Smooth check in and the room was ready for us, the...

We leave tomorrow after 4 nights at this hotel, it's so perfectly situated to the piaza roma airport bus terminal, quick 3 min walk over 2 bridges and done. We stayed in ground floor room which is beautifully done out, with huge showroom, window overlooking the garden terrace. There is no noise at all at night so slept very well....

Very easy to walk to from either train station or bus station. Just one bus ride from the airport. Requested a view over the canal and we got it! It was an excellent room for view, spacious even with an extra bed for our daughter and lovely bathroom with bath-tub. The staff were friendly and helpful; we want to go...

The Hotel is a great location for the Train and Bus station, the room was great, cleaned every day it has a very confy double bed with ensuite bathroom and walk in shower. Breakfast is available, cereal, fruit, bread and cake. Which helps you get ready for the day ahead. We found plenty of nice places to eat and drink...

I stayed in this Hotel for two nights for work. When I checked in, the guy at the reception gave me the key of my room without giving me information on where the elevator was, on the password for the WiFi connection, on the timetable for breakfast next morning. When I entered in my room, I found it quite small,...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
