We stayed here for a week. It's a great location for exploring the city on foot or by vaparetto being close to the Accademia bridge, the gallery and water bus stop. Chatting to the very helpful owners Sabrina and Massimo over a lovely breakfast each day was a joy, their English is good and they gave us many helpful suggestions... More

We stayed in La Chicca in June 2016 for 2 nights; my friend stayed longer. Bottom line: definitely a place I would go back to! It had everything we needed for a comfortable, pleasant stay. Our room, and the common areas were pleasant, tastefully decorated and immaculate clean. Our room was spacious, equipped air condition and a small fridge. We... More

My husband and I stayed here as our last 3 nights on a 16-day trip to Italy. It was a very easy walk from the Accademia stop. The owners Massimo and Sabrina are exceptionally friendly and attentive. They talked with us during breakfast to make sure that everything was going well and to see if we needed any extra help.... More

Highly recommended. This is a great B&B, hosted by great people. We were extremely happy as it provides easy access to all the main attractions and is convenient if joining a cruise. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and quiet. Breakfast is substantial.

We have just stayed here for three nights and so enjoyed it. The location is perfect (one of the nicest areas in Venice we thought). Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
