The B&B Ca' Luisa is perfect for thos who wants to be 5 minutes away from the San Marco Square and not paying a fortune. The rooms are very nice decorated, the bed is very comfortable and the old couple that probably owns the place are very helpful and amable, even if they don't speak very good English. Everything was...

We chose Ca'Luisa for our brief honeymoon stay in Venice and and were delighted by how welcoming the owners were. It isn't very easy to find at first as the entrance is in one of the smaller side streets (Calle Strazze) but once inside we were presented with a beautifully furnished room and even air conditioning. This is not a...

Our stay at this b&b added to the special charm of visiting Venice. It is in a narrow alley that is typical of the city, very close to St. Mark's Square. The room was very big and well decorated, with windows looking out to life in Venice. The breakfast is brought in by the owner herself and was so much...

The owners (Luisa and Bruno), very courteous and always willing to help, The hotel's location in the center of the island of Venice, a short distance from the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal, and 5 minutes from St Mark's Square. Breakfast is nice but sparse. Good air conditioning system, excellent lighting and romantic atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I from Canada stayed here last week. The B&B was a bit tricky to find (although most things are for the first time in Venice) but it is a great location, close to all the sights and attractions. The room was very spacious and we loved that all the windows opened up onto the street. The only...

It's not a hotel, it's bed and breakfast, but very good option, well located, the room and bathroom are large. The person who stay there doesn't speak English, but he's very kind and try to speak and understand you all the time! The breakfast is inside the room, but it's ok! Simple but nice! Everything very clean in the room.

After finding Ca Luisa, we were very happy to be welcomed by Luisa and her husband within minutes of us ringing. I was not well on the day and they got us settled into our room as quickly as possible. Breakfast was quite nice; what we had expected and it was delivered early to accommodate our early departure. It was...

What we liked: -Very good location half way between Rialto bridge and St Mark's Square. -Owners came to receive us at Rialto bridge to show us the way- quite complicated to get to if you don't know the area. Disappointed by: - overpriced for the facilities that you get -no wifi reception in the downstairs bedroom. Had to sit by...

we go to meet our customers to facilitate their arrival in a city 'a little' complicated as Venice breakfast consists of sweet foods, bread, fresh fruit, cheeses and cold meats, caffe'macinato at the moment with professional machine, we request because the customer want, but It is absolutely forbidden by law to Bed and breakfast cook for guests foods, especially eggs...

My wife and myself were charmed by the warm and sweet welcome by the owner couple. The place is superbly located, less than 5 min walk from all important sights and meeting points. And it's impossible to get lost , trying to find it from Rialto.( a common thing in Venice, they say). Just remember to call the owner on...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
