I stayed here for three nights during Carnival. I arrived late at night and the owner was very helpful with providing directions. The B&B is just a few minutes walk from Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. It is very easy to get to from the airport if you take the airport boat and get off at the Rialto stop....

Excellent place to stay, on the top floor of an old palazzo, great value for money. Difficult to find without instructions from the owner, Stefano, but once you'e found it you discover it's only 10 minutes walking distance from St. Mark's and even less from Rialto. I had a single room which, being for 1 person only, was understandably small,...

This was a perfect location!! It was difficult to find due to no signage. We navigated our way by locating the address on the wall and the #s in the doors. It is down an ally then down a small corridor. Then there is a very small name plate with the name of the B&B. Once you get past that...it...

Price and quality combination was very good for me as I was travelling alone. Very friendly and nice service and very central and comfort location - 5 miutes to San Marco square. A lot of small shops, restaurants and caffes. I can only recommend this place! The only thing - take the earplugs with you, because the walls are not...

We had a fantastic stay at Ca' Dei Fuseri, although we struggled to find it (it is down a wee unmarked lane) the room was like having our own little flat, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was great considering it was included in the price. Fresh coffee and a range of food served to your room! The staff...

Fuseri was very clean, double bed was comfy. Breakfast of jam-stuffed croissants, yogurt, toast, coffee and juice on the terrace overlooking many of surrounding homes on sunny mornings was a lovely start. Location was great - not in the worst of tourist bustle but within 10 minute walk of everything. Located between St Mark's Plaza and Rialto Market (on side...

This was a great little place to stay for 2 nights in Venice. Great location near everything, nice clean and spacious room. We had a room just near the kitchen area with a private external bathroom. Not the best, as like a lot of people we would prefered a private room inside the room, but this is Italy in an...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

“Small single room but adequate. People with an ample body frame might have to struggle to squeeze into the shower cubicle. ”

“I always use earplugs, just in case, but this isn't a noisy property. Mosquito bites in Venice can be a problem. Get a water bus 3 day (or what-ever) card.”
